Miami
Sytë Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Driving into the sunset
Violet skies above my head
Cruising down the lane
Can't forget this place
This is ecstasy

Bathing in paradise
In this moment you and I
We have crossed the line
To the other side
Bathing in paradise
In this moment you and I
We're on the other side

(Maybe I'm just too high)

I've never been to Miami
But I like this place
Maybe I'm just too high, baby
Cruising down the lane
Can't forget your face
This is ecstasy

Bathing in paradise
In this moment you and I
We have crossed the line
To the other side
Bathing in paradise
In this moment you and I
We're on the other side

Bathing in paradise
In this moment you and I
We have crossed the line
To the other side
Bathing in paradise
In this moment you and I

We have crossed the line
To the other side

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "Miami" by Sytë describe a blissful and dreamy experience of driving into the sunset in Miami. Violet skies above signal the start of an enchanting journey cruising down a lane, and all the while, the singer cannot forget this place because of how ecstatic it makes them feel. The moment seems to transcend ordinary reality, as the present is described as a paradise that the singer shares with someone special. They have crossed the line to the other side, perhaps leaving behind the mundane world for something more transcendent. Even though the singer has never been to Miami, the feeling of being in this place is so powerful and consuming that they cannot help but get lost in it.

Overall, "Miami" seems to be a song about escaping reality and entering a paradise-like state of mind. The lyrics paint a vivid picture of a beautiful journey, enhanced by the presence of someone special. The reference to Miami, a place known for its vibrant nightlife and endless parties, is likely used metaphorically to represent a heightened and transcendent state of mind.

Honestly the first 3 days were crucial after the building collapsed anything after those 3 days the chances were little to none. I get that everything was against them during those days like the fire burning within and the weather but I still felt like they could’ve done better. These are people, loved ones who have families missing them. This could’ve been easily avoided but was chosen to be ignored and now here are the repercussions. Yet they still give false hope to these families.

To be honest and not to discredit the past efforts, the search and rescue went slower than I expected based on this video. We all feel the pain who have lost their family members.

its a targeted blasting to bury several people infected with the virus in March 2019 so that nobody will know that corona is made in USA and thats why the whole rescue team had to have corona test once per hour and there are 6 guys from rescur team got corona, their order is save nobody out of the ruins

I agree it went slower then expected. The rubble should have been cleared and all living victims should have been rescued by now. I don't know why it went the way it did. Perhaps Americans don't have the experience to handle this type of situation or perhaps they don't care or perhaps they're overwhelmed with emotion. Whatever the reason, it is a tragedy more people could not be rescued.

@Mehmet Yılmaz I'm sorry for your loss in Turkey, of course we watched the news about it. Compared to Turkey, Miami collapse was complete in part where it happened, pile is only a few meters high. Beside, part of the building is in danger of collapse. I'm afraid no one else survived which is why they rather protect rescuers than hurry and risk additional deaths if what's left collapses.

@Coda Alive
we had earthquake in 30 october 2020 in İzmir/Turkey
and we managed to rescue 70 people from under the rubbles. Rescue team ended operation in 4 days
We lost 116 people but there was 8 buildings collapsed after earthquake
I think US could make better. It is really sad people lost their lifes.
God may help their families

@on.plateau. It is too invasive. They are afraid of collapses inside collapsed ruins that could kill rescuers, this is also reason they don't put a lot more people at work. Beside, there is big danger remains that are still standing would collapse. At this point it is about safety of rescue workers because it is highly unlikely they will find even one person alive, too many days without water and high temperatures had passed. I believe they will soon call off search&rescue to speed the things up.

Small government should be accompanied by smaller buildings, it seems.
