I have that album - Track Records put out a series of older albums in plain covers - there were several including a couple of Hendrix albums too. They were 99p a go - bargain!

That’s right deedeesissy they were called Backtrack. Then numbered, Backtrack 1, Backtrack 2, etc. Some were one side Who, other side Hendrix.

In fact, if you read what Roger McGuinn has said in interviews, after seeing the film A Hard Day's Night with Dave Crosby they decided to form a folk-based harmony group. As for The Who, they were using harmony from the start, before the Byrds released their first single.
