Constellation
T.B.C. Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I wonder what told you it's time to find another town
The voice that brought you here
'Cause the curtain call tends to reveal
Much more than it conceals
Sometimes it ain't the expectations that cripple you
Sometimes it's the lack thereof
Maybe your time machine landed with no coverage
Burned up, and left you to crash upon the bridge

And I've found another message
Written in the stars tonight
I hope I ain't wrong this time
'Cause the one thing I've learned from you is the one thing that you've never known
Sometimes a part-time thrill is a full-time home

What happens to a love deferred
I think we all know
How do you keep your cool in the end
Oh tell me straight, was I just another optimist with a strange knack for waiting for the worst
You can only make somebody happy if they really want you to
I just don't think you've got the nerve
What's more comfortable
Living off the rails, or giving everything just to cling onto the curve

And I've found another message
Written in the stars tonight
I hope I ain't wrong this time
'Cause the one thing I've learned from you is the one thing that you've never known
Sometimes a part-time thrill is a full-time home

And I've found another message
Written in the stars tonight
I hope I ain't wrong this time

If I don't play this card right, you might prefer to live all alone
But sometimes a part-time thrill is a full-time home

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of T.B.C.'s song "Constellation" capture the feelings of longing and loss that come with moving to a new place and leaving behind familiar people and surroundings. The first verse describes the singer laying their head on a railroad track and gazing up at the painted sky, a symbol of the vastness and beauty of the universe. However, the singer's train is gone and won't be returning, representing the sense of loss and absence they feel.

The chorus brings in the image of a constellation riding across the sky, a man made of dots and lines with no cigar or lady on his arm. This speaks to the notion that we make connections and see patterns in the world around us, even in things as seemingly random as the stars in the sky. The repetition of the line "just a guy made of dots and lines" emphasizes the idea that our perceptions of the world are subjective and constructed from our own experiences and interpretations.

The second verse further explores the singer's feelings of displacement and disconnection from their new environment. They had hoped to escape the city lights and find something deeper, but instead feel weighed down and obstructed by them. The final lines of the song ask if the listener can hear what the singer sees in the sky, suggesting a desire for connection and communication.

Overall, "Constellation" is a poignant meditation on the universal human experience of longing and searching for meaning, even in the face of loss and loneliness.

Not sure if the product is weak or the demonstration. Didn’t get anything useful from it😢

Thats great, you know what would be better? A layer manager that functions faster than molasses and not needing to pay a third party a subscription fee for basic core features...

@jesuswong5119

Wow you are crazy right.

@langweilig951

Do more videos with explanations of specific workflows. For example: Show us how to get a volume out of a stock pile. What is the benefit of the pointcloud classification? How can I generate lists of numbers of trees, sights, …
Trimble should present more example of use cases. Me as a user is not clear what benefits I’m getting from using TBC except of a good looking classified pointcloud.

@TrimbleBusinessCenter

More videos will be uploaded that focuses on the workflows in more detail.

@makatogonzo

I feel like Trimble has gone and completely ignored the basics like drafting and notes integration. More options of labelling angles, fixing their broken draw order. Not sure who asked for all those new features.
