Cops
T.B.R. Lyrics

Never try to hold me down or put me in positions
Before I even killed the beat I put it in submission
Come begging for mercy like the act of contrition
If you're still a doubter then please shut up and listen
Fuck your wrist that's glistening
I drowned at my christening
The boy that rose from water was one that's meant to walk on it
Ironic cause my drips a motherfucking broken faucet
Inevitable like Thanos and that means no one can stop it
Boy, I'm fucking snapping like I possess the gauntlet
Shining like I'm mithril, or the brightest of the diamonds
FTP in my mind every time I hear the sirens
2.75 is enough to start the violence
So ima fucking drop the mic and I'll I want is silence

Silent, be quiet, won't do that get violent
With The problems arising they think that'll stop me
Stop me? I doubt ya Can catch me like an outlaw
But if ya do I'll cut right through you bitches like a chainsaw
Sounds like a lot of hoopla who would've thought we'd be in a studio trying crazy flows Not me bro
Swooping to save the show the crowds hero
Our voices so lethal the people will keep on
Looking for the truth don't let it loose keeping it smooth I never lose
There's no excuse coming for you silly goose
Boros is the fucking crew your gang is in Timbuktu
Number one you're number two, you still here ain't get the clue?
Against us like the cops, Watching close to see us fall
See them lurking from afar so we just gonna start

Running running running from my problems and the cops
Running running running from my problems and the cops
Running running running from my problems and the cops
Yeah we never gonna stop, yeah we never gonna stop
Running running running from my problems and the cops
Running running running from my problems and the cops
Running running running from my problems and the cops
Yeah we never gonna stop, yeah we never gonna stop

I got evil plans nigga check my plot list
Knock shit, hoping I get hits like a pop disc
Pig's pressure beating with the beef on some cock shit
Spent my money compensating for crutches I don't cop shit
Cynical sentinels shoot the youth from the pinnacle
Maximizing the morbid manipulating the minimal
Knowing shit that we getting through detrimental and pitiful
Isolating the idols they turned the hall to a little room and it hurts
Niggas don't know my worth
I've been doubting this intro to the world since birth
Waking up to withering is not gon' fucking work
I know an off officer do damage like nerf, bitch

And now the B0R0s running, running
And now the B0R0s running, running
And now the B0R0s running, running
And now the B0R0s running, running

Running running running from my problems and the cops
Running running running from my problems and the cops
Running running running from my problems and the cops
Yeah we never gonna stop, yeah we never gonna stop
Running running running from my problems and the cops
Running running running from my problems and the cops

Running running running from my problems and the cops
Yeah we never gonna stop, yeah we never gonna stop

Overall Meaning

The song "Cops" by T.B.R. talks about the struggle of running away from one's problems, and the fear of being pursued by the police. The rapper talks about not wanting to be held down or put in positions, and how he wants people to listen to him. He mentions drowning at his christening, implying that he has been held down for a long time, but now he is ready to rise and walk on water. The rapper uses a lot of metaphors, comparing himself to Thanos and his rap style to a broken faucet.

In the next verse, the rapper talks about evil plans, hoping to get fame through his music. He criticizes the police, saying they are beating up innocent people for no reason. He also talks about the difficulties of becoming a successful rapper, how people doubt his talent, and how he needs to compensate for his lack of resources. The chorus of the song repeats the lines "Running running running from my problems and the cops" several times, emphasizing the theme of running away and trying to escape from one's troubles.

OMG! You two have become two of my favorite reactors! That tower jump-scare and "Can't he kill Dominic? Not Dominic! Oh my god!" 🤣 LMAO!

What I really liked about a number of 80s movies like Beverly Hills Cop, 48 hours, Midnight Run, and Running Scared,¹ is how they kept everything grounded in reality. Then they let either a situation, the star or even a random character bring out the comedy.

IMO, one of the best examples which illustrates the difference I'm talking about is Beverly Hills Cop vs Beverly Hills Cop 3. They kept everything grounded in Beverly Hills Cop. Eddie Murphy and characters like Serge were where the comic became from. Everything else was very grounded.² And then you go to Beverly Hills Cop 3 and they forgot what formula they used for the success of the original. And in Beverly Hills Cop 3 everything was simply dialed up to "absurdly stupid."

··•✺•··

¹ ─ Midnight Run stars Robert De Niro and the late great Charles Grodin. Running Scared stars Billy Crystal and Gregory Hines.

² ─ Even the character of Serge was somewhat grounded, as he was supposed to be typical of what one found in an 80's Los Angeles art gallery.

One of the funniest movies I’ve seen and the cast of kids was absolutely incredible!!

Thank you all for the support!

Talking Hands

Yah, you guys totally need to watch that zoom reunion. The twins were in it. The only bad part of it is the actor for Dominic wouldn't stfu the entire time, lol.

The reunion

Scott Johanson

The thing was it was really marketed wrong especially after Arnold's success with Twins. Never mind that, it was a good movie just not really for kids.

You should check out the actress who played the real love interest for Arnold played by Penelope Ann Miller. She starred in an excellent horror monster movie called The Relic (1997), also with Tom Sizemore from Saving Private Ryan, Linda Hunt, who played the Principal in this movie and James Whitmore who played Brooks in Shawshank Redemption.

Good reaction, thank you.

Gordon Davis

Try Red Heat where Arnold plays a Russian detective who has to work with Chicago cop Jim Belushi.

Tally Kev

Running Man... more Arnold humor in over-the-top sci-fi action thriller with real and perfectly cast game show host Richard Dawson.

Believe it or not but Arnold even admitted that this was one of the most enjoyable films he’s ever done.

Robert McGhin

He also famously requested that a gym be set up so that he could keep exercising during filming intervals.

Tony Saourn

I would too 😆

Tollyce Glassheart

This, Conan the Barbarian, and Eraser are three Arnold classics.
