T.D.X. Lyrics

You the one
Baby you the one
Baby you the one
Baby you the one
You the one I want
I can't even front
Sipping on some drank, I can't focus
I just put the fire to the blunt
Baby I'm addicted to your love
Baby get me high off of your drug
Now we gone
Now we gone
Now we gone
Now we gone
Now we gone
Now we gone
Now we gone
Hold on let me recollect
Seen you walking my direction, I hold my breath
Knew I had to intersect
I'd lose it if I didn't mention how you a threat
Yeah
Got my heart racing like I'm dying
I need you to survive, alive
Need you in my life
Crazy how you got me feeling
It's crazy how you got me feeling so high off your love
And tell me if It's really real
Tell me if It's really real or just another drug
Yeah, I'm tired of the mind games
Yeah, and now we do it my way
Huh, but I need another drug
Yeah, 'cause I'm addicted to your love
Sipping on some drank, I can't focus
I just put the fire to the blunt
Baby I'm addicted to your love
Baby get me high off of your drug
Now we gone
Now we gone
Now we gone
Now we gone
Now we gone
Now we gone
Now we gone
Hold on let me recollect
Seen you walking my direction, I hold my breath
Knew I had to intersect
I'd lose it if I didn't mention, how you a threat
Yeah
Got my heart racing like I'm dying
I need you to survive, alive
Need you in my life
'Gimme that drug
'Gimme that

'Gimme that
'Gimme that drug

Overall Meaning

In the song "Arcade" by T.D.X., the lyrics express the singer's intense infatuation and addiction to someone they consider to be the one they want and need. The repetition of "You the one, baby you the one" emphasizes the depth of their feelings for this person. The singer admits to being unable to focus, possibly due to being under the influence of alcohol ("Sipping on some drank") and marijuana ("put the fire to the blunt"). However, it is not these substances that the singer is truly addicted to, but rather the love and presence of this person.

The chorus highlights the intoxicating effects of being in love, comparing it to a drug that brings a feeling of being high. The singer questions whether the love they are experiencing is real or just another temporary fix like a drug. The mind games and uncertainties of love are wearing the singer down, but they still crave the person's love and compare it to a drug they need to survive.

Throughout the song, the singer's desperation and yearning for this person is evident. The line "Got my heart racing like I'm dying, I need you to survive" expresses the intensity of their emotions. The singer pleads for them to "Gimme that drug" repeatedly, emphasizing their addiction to this person's love.

I remember scoring reliably about 270,000 with a best of just over 274,000. Anyway held the record at the local arcade lol. It was a LOT of fun. A LOT. Would love to buy one of these in working order but no idea where to get one.

A fantastic racing game. And man, you wanna talk about innovations? Full widescreen (using THREE monitors side-by-wide), and forks in the road allowing racers to choose their own route. And this was in 1983! Same guys also created "Buggy Boy".

FezTheSpaceBiker

I'm fairly certain the same cabinet design was later used in Darius and The NinjaWarriors

Luca Uva

Yeaaaah ...I suppose was a game developed after Buggy Buy!!!
That's the same team!!!!

I only ever saw an actual TX-1 cabinet in one arcade at a New Hampshire beach as a kid in early 80's.
Huge cabinet. It had three screens. It didn't last long though. That cabinet wound up broken somehow, and sat out of order for a long time, then it just disappeared, and I have never seen one ever since.
Good game.

Discovering this for the first time... looks like the missing link between Pole Position and Outrun. A+

Randal Gelking

We actually had a TX-1 full cabinet on the 3rd floor at my workplace, IDK how they got it out of there when we moved in 2010

Sharptooth Trex

If this game came to PS4/PS5 and Nintendo Switch must happen as soon as possible, including Turbo Outrun, and Enduro Racer.

NTMonsty

Perfect for Split-Screen, given how damn wide the screen is.

So this was the inspiration for Hang-On in 1985, even though Hang-On itself was innovative in it's own right.
