As of October 2008, T.I. has had nine Top 10 Billboard Hot 100 singles, with 3 of them reaching number 1 ("My Love" by Justin Timberlake on which T.I. was featured, "Whatever You Like," & "Live Your Life" featuring Rihanna).
The Love This Life Songfacts reports that Love This Life, the first official single from T.I.'s eighth album, Trouble Man, was released on April 2, 2012 via YouTube.
T.I. is from Bankhead, Atlanta, Georgia and was raised by his grandparents. T.I. explained the origin of his nickname Rubber Band Man, saying, "We used to wear rubber bands to signify how much money, how much blow we had." He was nicknamed "Tip" after his paternal great-grandfather. Upon signing with Arista Records subsidiary LaFace Records in 2001, he shortened his name to T.I. out of respect for label mate Q-Tip.
T.I. has been in a relationship with former Xscape member Tameka "Tiny" Cottle since 2001. Together, they have two sons: King and Major Harris. He has three other children with ex-girlfriend Lashon Dixon: Domani, Messiah and Deyjah. Overall, T.I. has five children.
T.I. was co-executive producer of B.G.'s upcoming album and making beats for artists like Mariah Carey, Cassidy, Rick Ross, Maino, B.o.B., Yung Joc, Young Dro, and himself. He also executive produced the soundtrack to the film Hustle & Flow and released the collection through his record label.

Oh I got hope
I'm holding on rope that's thinner than thread, thinner than thread
But I look ahead, and that's just hope
That's just hope
I see a life that's better than this, better than this, Oh I got hope
I got hope
I got hope
I see a life that's better than this, better than this, so I got hope Oh I got hope
I'm holding on rope that's thinner than thread, thinner than thread
But I look ahead, and that's just hope
Hope's up but I'm not too high
Smoked up but I'm not too high, smoked up but I'm not too high
I got family that pray to god to curse me, to be honest that hurts me
I pray to god for mercy and I hope he heard me
Let's sit to a dinner and have a conversation of how we're all sinners
I got two sisters one of them suicidal, she almost left my nephew all alone
Told her if she needed a shoulder to lean on
"I'm here please, I'm here. Don't disappear"
Times were hard and family were few
Real fam' where was you now?
Real fam' where was you now?
Bless up have a good time, yeah
I see a life that's better than this, better than this, so I got hope Oh I got hope
I'm holding on rope that's thinner than thread, thinner than thread
But I look ahead, and that's just hope
Hope's up but I'm not too high
Smoked up but I'm not too high, smoked up but I'm not too high
This is my life story I was never born in wealth
Mama took care of me she cared about my health
Mama I promise I'll provide for you
I know things could be
Better Than This, better than this, better than this
You are my pillar of hope
And you are that picture of dope
The reason i cope, the reason i cope
It seems nowadays I'm checking up on ni**as
I'm sending text like "you up?" Like "N.i.K are you good?" "How's the family?"
"How's your little brother? How's your big brother?"
"How's your sister how's your mother how's your father how's everybody in the family?!"
But ain't nobody care about me
It seems I'm taking care of these ni**as, like they're my own family
But when it's me they forgot me
I'm another casualty, look
Real friends where was you now
Real friends where was you now
I see a life that's better than this, better than this, so I got hope Oh I got hope
I'm holding on rope that's thinner than thread, thinner than thread
But I look ahead, and that's just hope
Hope's up but I'm not too high
Smoked up but I'm not too high, smoked up but I'm not too high
You know what, forget it
I forgive y'all ni**as
This is it I forgive y'all I found peace in myself
Cuz we good no schmoke
To the family no schmoke
We good
I see a life that's better than this, better than this, Oh I got hope
I got hope
I see a life that's better than this, better than this, Oh I got hope
I got hope
In the song "Better Than This," T.I. reflects on his turbulent life and his journey towards finding peace and hope. Despite being down and out, he still believes in a better future for himself and his family. T.I. acknowledges that his life has been tough and that he has had to hold on to a thin thread to overcome his difficulties, but he looks ahead with hope. He prays for mercy, even as others pray for his downfall, and he longs for a conversation that acknowledges the imperfections of humanity. T.I. admits that he has been let down by so-called friends and family, but his focus is on the future that he views as being Better Than This. He looks towards his mother as a source of hope and inspiration, fighting to provide for her even as he confronts the challenges of his life.
