Bohohta bolde ni pave asi chup rehnde an
Dekhi vehama ali gudi kite chad na jayi
Khule aa maidaan ik 7 khade an
P ik 7 ki aa kaka padke aayi
Yaariya di dungi eh misaal dinde aa
Hind jeda bhanu aisa asla he nhi
Ture singha ali chaal hikka kholi firde
Te kehnde vairiya nu ajo koi masla he nhi
Singha ali chaal hikka kholi firde
Kehnde vairiya nu ajo koi masla he nhi
Aisi satt maru malam na lagu satt te
Kaiya kol layi approach soniye
Hun crowd vich milde ni hunde kath te
Eh uhna deya sina da ay dosh soniye
Sada hath jod manga uss Rab kolo ni
Aina mileya pyaar koi rafda he nhi
Ture singha ali chaal hikka kholi firde
Kehnde vairiya nu ajo koi masla he nhi
Singha ali chaal hikka kholi firde
Kehnde vairiya nu ajo koi masla he nhi
Hustla'n de utte java pair dharya
Likhat ay kehar keda mure khadeya
Jede jigre di Tusi Gall Karde
Asi Maav'n diya kukha vicho laike palle aa
Akh jedi band dekhi khull na jave
Eh struggle da daur bohota chalna he nhi
Ture singha ali chaal hikka kholi firde
Kehnde vairiya nu ajo koi masla he nhi
Singha ali chaal hikka kholi firde
Kehnde vairiya nu ajo koi masla he nhi
Dekh lai kiti hun navi shuruyaat
Kayi kehnde ihna daa pech laye hoye aa
Mehnat ay kini kade daseya ni kise
Raatan jaag-jaag kive age aaye hoye aa
Hauli-hauli pujna mukaam tak ve
Hauli turange jaroor per rukna he nhi
Ture singha ali chaal hikka kholi firde
Kehnde vairiya nu ajo koi masla he nhi
Singha ali chaal hikka kholi firde
Kehnde vairiya nu ajo koi masla he nhi

The devil causes trouble but more often than not it is their own flesh and their pride. You can find what I am talking about in the letters. I agree with you that many people blame the devil but not themselves. These people think they are true christians but have not really studied the bible. For Hardships, inconvience or distraction; the first book in nonchronological order is Job. Talk about hardship after hardship.

Listen to Keith Green: Asleep in the Light. He was distressed about this problem in his ministry alot. The problem being christians in title, not livong it out as he did.

Talk about a hard hitting song. Many people should hear it. If you don't want to, then I can't stop it.

I hope you come to find the True Jesus, and not the Jesus most people think of but the Biblical Jesus

Stay safe and stay well.
God bless ye.

@SpecialInterestShow

I was once in a club at my high school focused on volunteering and helping others.

Christmas time approaches.

We were making little gift boxes to send out to "third world countries" or something, they said.

Everything is going well and good until the very end, when I've already purchased items and made my box.

The supervising teacher suddenly passes out these crayons and "activity sheets". At first I was like "oh, cute", but then, I looked closer, and... They had Bible verses on them. One of the coloring pages was a kid praying.

I was fucking PISSED. Absolutely LIVID. I asked if I could not put them in my box as, obviously, taking advantage of peoples' impoverishment to push your religion on them is fucked up.

I was told no. That we had to include the worksheets. I was fuming.

And THAT was the last day I EVER went to that club. I'm still mad whenever I think about it and I'm 26.

For context, it was sort of a private high school, but NOT a religious-based one. I had no idea until the last minute that these boxes (meant for kids, btw) were gonna be part of some bullshit mission trip or something.

To this day, over a decade later, the memory hasn't faded.
Whenever I hear about mission trips, all I can think of is that shoebox I filled and decorated with my own hands... that was forced to become a tool for manipulating a child.

As an Anthropologist who grew up in a Fundamentalist Christian environment, I have a few thoughts:

1) The story of John Chau fills me with rage every time I’m reminded of it. I remember reading about it around Christmas of 2018 and raging about it to anyone who’d be willing to listen.

Anthropologists have known for decades that the Sentinelese people are hostile to outsiders and have made a few attempts to make contact with them, and with little to no successful, they’ve stopped…because they know better than to not cross that boundary with other groups of people.

John Chau was an idiot to go to the Sentinel Islands, knowing what he did and planning out what he set out to do.

2) Knowing that I know now, the whole notion of missionary work is beyond enraging and damaging.

Yes, you ARE imposing your cultural and religious beliefs onto others, no matter what volunteer work you do or regardless of how you think that “Jesus loves everyone and we need to tell every single person about that so they can convert”!

You’re not doing neutral ethnographic research or participant observation in a group of people for deeper revelation and study.

Any and all versions of imposing your religion onto others is cultural erasure.

3) I find the whole Orphanage movement disturbing and depressing.

I HATE how some in more developed, Western countries automatically assume that people in less developed countries know “less” than we do, somehow don’t deserve the same resources we take for granted, and find it ok to make exploiting these points into a “fun trip” makes it all ok in the name of Jesus.

By keeping people (esp kids in these orphanages) in these areas poor, without better resources, and dependent on Missions Work/Volunteerism, it’s just a Christian Touristy reincarnation of how we put the same people in Human Zoos (where people from all around the world were made to live in dioramas or zoos that looked like where they were from, most of these Zoos were in the US, UK and in Europe), but they’re located “over there” in some “exotic locale”

It’s almost as if going far away to another place around the world makes treatment of kids and adults justifies how they’re treated, whereas our tolerance for those conditions would be a lot lower if they lived in our own country, state, city/town…

It's funny how often God "comes through" when you have wealthy friends and how little he does when you don't

@SilverDragonJay

smh, god only cares about the popular kids...figures...

@Boris99999

You know, we could argue a lot about if these missions are actually useful to anyone but the one thing you can’t argue is that they are life changing! Especially for people that die because of those missions…

@carmenplangger9417

Or pushes job opportunities your way rather than materialising a stack of bank notes. All-powerful, my ass.

@simona_sigmund1001

I remember 5yrs ago when I used to be a Christian I tried to fundraise for a missions trip. I went to a tiny church in Scotland and it was a struggle to raise money. I ended up having to save money by working extra hours at my job. Whereas the people on my team who went to mega churches in the deep south US raised enough money overnight. They gave thanks to God saying he provided and blessed them. Whilst me and the other missionaries in similar situations to me were like why didnt God pull through for us?

Now since leaving christianity I realise it wasn't God at all and I've spoken out against mission trips. They're so toxic

@LiShuBen

@Šimona_Sigmund  dang that's so fucked up.

Cracks me up how their idea of "getting out of your comfort zone" is to literally force the rest of the world to align with their comfort zone...

@vanissaberg5824

That one cracks me up 😂😂😂

I think if you want to travel to another country and really get out of your comfort zone, try to go with the intention of learning about the culture with ears and eyes wide open. Try to participate and go with the flow. Make some long term friends and stay in touch with them like a genuine person and learn from them. Ask questions out of curiosity.

I've been living in India for almost 4 years now and I'm still learning about things here. Luckily my husband and his family here are pretty chill and really happy to have me as part of the family and they enjoy learning about my culture as well (they were surprised that not everything they see in movies is an accurate description of all of America and not all Americans are rich lol).

My mother-in-law also taught me how to cook yummy Indian food and Chai. 😋

@Silburific

"Getting out of your confort zone" is code for "interacting with brown people"- but not those scary ones that hang out and talk in front of convienience stores and complain about how the cops shot their nephew, no no. They want brown people untainted by the scourge of "wokeness", the ones who don't demand equal treatment from them.

@yoyosworld2773

Right?!
