Part 2
T.R.U. Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I don't believe his book
But the truth is not the same
Without the lies he made up
Don't believe in excess
Success is to give
Don't believe in riches
I, I believe in love
Don't believe in forced entry
Don't believe in rape
But every time she passes by
Wild thoughts escape
I don't believe in death row
Skid row or the gangs
Don't believe in the Uzi
It just went off in my hand
I, I believe in love
Don't believe in cocaine
Got a speed-ball in my head
I could cut and crack you open
Do you hear what I said
Don't believe them when they tell me
There ain't no cure
The rich stay healthy
While the sick stay poor
I, I believe in love
Don't believe in Goldman
His type like a curse
Instant karma's going to get him
If I don't get him first
Don't believe that rock 'n' roll
Can really change the world
As it spins in revolution
It spirals and turns
I, I believe in love
Don't believe in the 60's
The golden age of pop
You glorify the past
When the future dries up
Heard a singer on the radio
late last night
He says he's gonna kick the darkness
'Til it bleeds daylight
I, I believe in love
Love
Love
Love
Love
I feel like I'm falling
Like I'm spinning on a wheel
It always stops beside of me
With a presence I can feel
I, I believe in love
Stop
The lyrics of T.R.U.'s song Part 2 convey the idea that the truth cannot exist without lies, and that success is defined by giving and not by excess or riches. The singer of the song expresses his belief in love and disavows violence, drug use, and materialism. He rejects the idea that the past was better than the present and asserts that love is still the key to a better future. He also suggests that there is a sense of inevitability in life, as he feels like he is falling and spinning on a wheel, but ultimately believes in the power of love to overcome darkness.
The lyrics of this song are a commentary on the state of society, particularly in relation to the values that people hold dear. The singer is skeptical of the mainstream narrative around success and wealth, and instead emphasizes the importance of love and compassion. The references to violence, drug use, and poverty reflect the reality of many people's lives, and the singer's rejection of those things suggests a desire for a better world. Overall, the song is a call to reject the status quo and embrace a more loving and empathetic way of life.

Worse part of being a mentally strong dude is that no matter what, life is always going to put you in situations where people can talk down on you, and they will always use those situations to talk down on you....Real people have to be as intelligent as they are tough to navigate this world, and survive it....Respect to these two dudes, it helps people from our era to be able to see growth from these type of well known people in the streets....
