Suyako left the band in early 2006 and was replaced by Nana The End. The band broke up in 2007.

They are heavily influenced by garage rock and punk bands like the Ramones, MC5 and The Sonics.

This song always make me tear up. Especially at the "please don't say you love me" part. It makes me think of my mom. She's so bittersweet. One moment she's telling me about how she loves me and the next she says I'm an entitled brat who doesn't know anything and yells at me and say so many horrible things. But then after that she goes right back to saying she loves me as if she never said any of the things before. And because of her I had to grow up and mature to fast to survive. I was forced to grow up so young because of her, the abuse, the shifted responsibilities. I raised her sons, I raised myself. I feels so old, and I'm not even out of highschool. Thanks to this pandemic I've lost what I had left of friends near me and I'm still coping about the fact I stopped being lonely to have friends only to loose them. This is why I am the happiest alone, 'cause even If i'm touch starved, or aching for a relationship, I'm Ok with myself. Confortable. You can't just go, give somebody hopes, making plans, and then stomp on their feelings, just because "you had change of heart". That's a dick move. It sucks.

I try to prevent it as much as possible to the point where I make myself stop feeling emotion but sometimes everything is so wrong that I can’t. so that part is sorta like begging for someone to go so I can feel for a second.

This song is so depressing to me " so please hurry leave me I can't breath please don't say you love me my heart is going to burst " whenever I feel genuinely happy in my life with people in my life they always either leave me or move away sometimes the people will turn on me and start being horribly mean to me. A few years back something like that happend with four girls and it still effects me to this day. I became friends with one of the girls again but now she ignores me.

This song hurts. After being hurt by people I was close too, I was left with a really bad self esteem, and it made it incredibly hard for me to talk to and make new friends. I constantly feel left out, and don’t often make conversation thinking I’m going to say something no one will find funny, and be alone again. I act too mature for my age and now I’ve realised now that all of that time spent on the internet, effected by other’s views, has really messed with me. It’s hard getting nervous about every little thing, and gradually realising that you don’t have any friends, and maybe they did actually effect you more than you want to admit they did.

the line “please hurry leave me i can’t breathe,please don’t say you love me” reminds me of my almost-relationship with this one boy,he was tall and strong but it was like he let his walls tumble with me and i think he truly loved me i’m sure of it, by the way he gazed into my eyes,by the way he took care of me but when he told me I panicked and isolated myself from him what i wouldn’t do to have that moment back. I didn’t want to get attached to him,I didn’t want him to leave me,so I did it first and I regret it. As stupid as it may sound this song is the only thing I have left.

the way i relate to the song is a lot different from other’s. when she says, “so please, hurry, leave me, i can’t breathe, please don’t say you love me” it reminds me of how at times, i just want them to leave me so i don’t get even more attached. when she says, “tell me “don’t do i can crawl back in” it reminds me of when i try to leave then unintentionally and they come to me and ask why i’m distancing from them and they tell me they miss me or care about me. when they say that, i get even more attached because i know that they “actually care”

This is the song that made me cry for the first time in a year, I finally just calmed down from it thankfully as I’m writing this comment. I had this song searched up because I just found it and wanted to listen to the full song (only heard a bit) and before I could my dad came in the room and fussed at me. I was upset yeah but I then went ahead and did as he asked, before I finished though he came back and I was putting something away and I was in his way and he yelled at me when I bumped into him. I was so close to crying then and there but I waited for him to leave and I grabbed my stuff and went to my room and just kinda broke down.
I just had so much and taken so much time and time again, he yelled at me for a thing I can’t control and it just hurt. Because all I’ve wanted was to make my dad happy and it just feels like whatever I do is never good enough and to him I’ll just be a lazy quitter that doesn’t love him enough and that isn’t good enough, but I do love him and I’m trying to be better. But there is always one of my siblings that is better so I’m just the leftovers.

This song honestly means so much to me. As someone who's been abandoned by just about everyone including my own father, "Please dont say you love me" perfectly sums how I feel. It also describes how I felt in my last relationship, with a guy who hurt me beyond belief in ways Im too disgusted by to even try to describe. I was starting to spot some serious bad signs about him, and a majority of my friends were warning me about him, so I left. But then he came crawling back to me, telling me how much he still loved me. All I could do was silently beg him not to, because his manipulation was still present in my mind and I knew I would be putty in his hands the moment he said those three words. And he did say them, and I was putty, and that was when he hurt me more than he ever had before. Hearing the words "I love you" after him, and after being abandoned by so many friends and family members is so difficult. Its impossible to believe that anyone means those words anymore. I truly feel for Mitski, she must have been through some awful stuff. But Im happy that she was able to put it into words for those of us who struggled to.

I was abused by someone for almost a year. We had met October 1st after my almost successful suicide attempt. I had always feared he'd leave me. And sooner than later I had found out he was sexually assaulting one of my friends. I was on edge everytime he'd go to hang out because I had the fear of getting replaced. And I still do thanks to him. I was traumatized far beyond than I thought I ever would be. I'm struggling to even function normally now but slowly I'm getting better. And looking back, knowing this song was a coping mechanism I should've taken it as a red flag.

I heard this song first in a playlist and thought "this is pretty nice".
But then I got to the chorus. I can't properly describe it because I know nothing of music theory, but I was instantly reminded of the chorus of "no one is ever going to want me" by Giles Corey. I personally feel like this song is about being afraid of love. falling in love seems so nice and it’s always portrayed as something positive on shows and such, but in reality it isn’t so positive. “please don’t say you love me” is such a strong message and delivers such a powerful and meaningful message. from my perspective, i'd say i take it as if it means that you shouldn't love this side of me. or in other words "please don't love this non physical side of me.". i tend to make other personalities to please others. in reality, i do it because i want to see them full of joy but it hardly ever feels real when they compliment or send me affection. i personally dont feel it, but my other personality does. it can be sad really. truly, i find myself to be an awful, uneducated person but maybe if i put make up on my face it will hide those ugly features?

Idk if this will help you, but I’ve felt similarly to this. What has helped me is realizing that every “personality” still is you. You are the mask you wear and the person underneath it. Even when you do something you wouldn’t ordinarily do to try and make someone happy, it’s because the part of you that’s kind is trying to spread kindness more- even though it may feel strange to act differently. So when people say something nice about you, it IS about you, or at least a part of you. I hope this may help, but if not I hope you find something else to help you feel better 🌸

I thought the "Please don't say you love me" part was related to hearing those words from someone who doesn't really love you. Like an abuser, who "redeemed themself", and wants to get back with you together, or parents whose love is conditional and will vanish the second you come out to them. It hurts a lot when someone who caused you so much pain says they love you. Especially when they aren't lying.
Aaaaapparently though it was about having a self-esteem lower than the rockiest bottom, making you feel like you don't deserve love.
Super not fun when you relate to both of those interpretations.
