1) Tamia Washington-Hill (born May 9, 1975 in Windsor, Ontario) is a Canadian R&B singer. She is noted for her spinto mezzo-soprano, a rangy three octaves, capable of both dark contralto depths and angelic soprano highs. Tamia has released numerous albums since her discovery by Quincy Jones in 1995, at the age of 19. Her first three albums, 1998's Tamia, 2000's A Nu Day, and 2004's More, all achieved moderate success on R&B charts and urban radio, but failed to achieve mainstream success.
As a result of the disappointing performances of her albums, Tamia split from her label and released her next record, Between Friends, independently. As of 2019, Tamia has released a further three studio albums through her own label, Plus One Music Group - 2012's Beautiful Surprise, 2015's Love Life, and 2018's Passion Like Fire.
She has been married to the NBA basketball player Grant Hill since 1999, with whom she has two children.
2) Tamia is an experimental/avant-garde vocalist who has collaborated with Pierre Favre.

With someone, at least I assumed
How did I know I would fall in love
With you
So soon
Just one look in your eyes and I see the truth
And I try hard to hide that I'm made for you
Just as long as we're together, oh
But who do you tell when you love someone?
Hoping that someone's in love with you
Who do you tell when you love someone?
I think I might as well tell you
I can't believe that I feel this way
There is so much I want to say
I want to touch you, hold you, feel you, please you
As we're making love all through the night
We would talk to each other
We would laugh and play
We would claim it's forever
Every night and day
We would share every minute
'Til the test of time
In my mind, baby, yeah, oh
Who do you tell when you love someone?
Hoping that someone's in love with you
Who do you tell when you love someone?
I think I might as well tell you
Who do you tell when you love someone?
Hoping that someone's in love with you
Who do you tell when you love someone?
I think I might as well tell you
Oh, I've hesitated much too many times
And I won't let you slip away from me
No
I know you're for me and me for you
But I don't know what to say or to do
So now that we're together
I'm telling you
Who do you tell when you love someone?
Hoping that someone's in love with you
Who do you tell when you love someone?
I think I might as well tell you
I think I might as well tell, tell you
In Tamia's song "Who Do You Tell?", the singer is expressing her feelings for someone she has fallen for at first sight. She discovers the person in a crowded room, and despite not knowing them, she immediately feels a strong connection. Tamia describes how she tries to hide her true feelings and reveal them only to the person she loves. She imagines spending time with this person, talking, laughing, and sharing every moment with them. She's decided that there's no point in keeping these feelings to herself anymore, and so she declares that she might as well tell the person she's in love with them.
The song is about the universal experience of falling in love with someone and the vulnerability and uncertainty that come with it. The lyrics capture the fear and hesitation that can come with confessing one's feelings because there is always a risk of rejection or unrequited affection. Tamia's desire to share her feelings with the object of her affection is relatable, and many listeners may find themselves nodding along in agreement with the song's message.
