Come With Me
Tammy St. John Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Come fly with me, let's fly, let's fly away
If you can use some exotic booze
There's a bar in far Bombay
Come fly with me, let's fly, let's fly away

Come fly with me, let's float down to Peru
In llama-land there's a one-man band
And he'll toot his flute for you
Come fly with me, let's take off in the blue

Once I get you up there
Where the air is rarefied
We'll just glide
Starry-eyed
Once I get you up there
I'll be holding you so near
You may hear
Angels cheer, 'cause we're together

Weather-wise, it's such a lovely day
Just say the words and we'll beat the birds
Down to Acapulco Bay
It is perfect for a flying honeymoon, they say
Come fly with me, let's fly, let's fly away

Once I get you up there
Where the air is rarefied
We'll just glide
Starry-eyed
Once I get you up there
I'll be holding you so near
You may hear
Angels cheer, 'cause we're together

Weather-wise, it's such a lovely day
You just say the words and we'll beat the birds
Down to Acapulco Bay
It's perfect for a flying honeymoon, they say

Come fly with me, let's fly let's fly
Pack up let's fly away

Remember Tammy so well. I was the drummer in a band she fronted in Essex in 1964. I was 15 and Tammy was 14 from memory. She had a great powerful voice. She got a recording contract and then went on the road whle I stayed at schooll!! I havnt seen her since 1967--I do hope she is thriving .......:)

Tammy St John was before my time but this song is pretty good.

@WedgePee

Guilty pleasure!

But seriously, Tammy was such a great singer. She should have been MASSIVELY popular. At least Dark Shadows and Empty Hallways is a cult classic!

How could a 15-year-old outshine most of the ADULTS in the charts today?
