Tara Perdida is a Portuguese punk rock band. Composed by 5 members: João Ribas (vocals), Ruka (guitar), Ganso (guitar), Jimmix (bass) and Rodrigo (drums), it was originally an underground project, but upon the release of their last album, Lambe-Botas, they have become commercially successful, especially among young generations.

Tara Perdida formed when João Ribas, after leaving Censurados (a pioneering punk band in Portugal) wanted to create another Portuguese punk rock band, and other bandmantes, Ruka and Orélio had the same goal. So they joined, in 1995 and formed Tara Perdida. Since then Tara Perdida has released five studio albums: Tara Perdida, Só Não Vê Quem Não Quer, É Assim..., Lambe-Botas, and Nada a Esconder.[1]

Tara Perdida is probably the most successful surviving Portuguese punk rock band (albeit not as successful as Peste&Sida or even Censurados on their heyday, but these bands disappeared or stopped playing punk), and has on several occasions opened NOFX and The Offspring concerts. A DVD was released in December 2007, featuring a recent live performance in Almada. A studio album was also recently released in the beginning of 2008.

The band featured in the opening line-up of the 2008 Lisbon, (Portugal), Super Bock Super Rock festival as guests of Iron Maiden.

Ribas, após o fim dos Censurados forma nova banda de punk rock hardcore com o apoio de Cró, Ruka e Orélio. Já com algumas ideias marcadas e alguns temas compostos, a banda começa a ensaiar em Alvalade, Lisboa, no dia 10 de Junho de 1995. O álbum, Lambe-Botas, (com um novo baterista, Rodrigo, também conhecido por Yogourt, traz uma boa simbiose entre o carácter mais directo e espontâneo dos dois primeiros discos e a sofisticação do terceiro, que resulta em mais um "melhor álbum da banda", confirmando que esta é uma banda que não estagna e evolui sempre, o que augura o melhor para o futuro.

Nada a Esconder, que saiu em Abril entra directamente para o 6o lugar do top nacional... palavras para que?... são artistas portugueses!

Ao vivo a banda está mais forte que nunca, conquistando legiões de seguidores fiéis em todo o país, esgota os recintos em que toca e nunca desilude.
