1) Tatanka Biography
It was around 1993 when he first got in contact with Dance/House music.
Fascinated as he was by this scene, he started mixing records together with a friend who occassionally used to organize some private parties among student friends.
In 1995 he got his first opportunity to be a residence-DJ at the Alhambra Club on the Sunday's afternoon.
Two years later he had his first collaboration with Radio Mare Imperiale which introduced him also for some gigs at the Imperiale di Tirenia in Pisa.
After that it took about another year to see him in control on the decks at the nocturnal clubs.
The first [and only] club which saw him Bing resident on Saturdays was the Evolution Planet in Busseto and, in time, Tatanka's LiveSets made their round across the Italian nation... which eventually brought him bookings at clubs such as "Shock", "Domina" and the "TntKamasutra".
Nowadays Tatanka refuses to be a resident at any club, in order to stay available to play his LiveSets every Saturdaynight in a different corner of the beautifull Italian nation together with the Free Spirit family.
Other than the clubs as mentioned above Tatanka also worked with; [Not in order of appearance]

2) The meaning of 'Tatanka':
Tatanka is a Native American word from the Cheyenne tribe and means; Bison.
In ancient times the Bisons romed the American prairies in hurds, and as they passed in a running stampede... the ground trembled along with it.Homegrown in Denver Colorado, Tatanka is a three piece specializing in the sounds of dub, progressive reggae and electro. Heavy Drum & Bass grooves originating from within provide the pulse for the party as the music invites you to get down and dirty. These Denver players have shared the stage with many major national acts and continue to push they're sound to the next level. As a young band they persist to impress people all over the nation and have a following in states all over the USA. Soon to be major players in dub, these boys will show you a sound like you have never heard or seen before. Keep an ear out for Tatanka as they make their way to a speaker near you.

Afrika
Tatanka Lyrics

But if we go back to the roots of rhythm
African tribes are the living proof
That pleasure and music come straight from the beat of the drum
A-A-Africa
Nowadays technology
A-A-Africa
Their rituals to celebrate the joy of life
Could take up all night
Men and women gathering around the fire
Are chanting and singing their song
[...]
African tribes gathering around the fire
Are chanting and singing their song
Technology

A-A-Africa
