She released her debut album 'Roc-A-Fella Records Presents: Teairra Marí' in 2005 with moderate success. She gained popularity with her first single and summer anthem "Make Her Feel Good" and the second single "No Daddy." In May 2007 she was dropped from Roc-A-Fella Records.

She is now currently signed to the venture Warner Bros./Fo'Reel Entertainment working on her sophomore album "At That Point". The album will feature production from: The Underdogs, The Runners, Polow Da Don, Tank, Neff-U and a list of others. She has also written songs with Keri Hilson, Solange, Sean Garrett and The Clutch for the project. Her first single is "Hunt 4 U," which features Pleasure P is out now. The second single from the album will be the Runners produced track "Cause A Scene" which features Flo Rida. "At That Point" will be released on April 7, 2009 (US).

Overall Meaning

In the first verse of Teairra Marí's song The Truth, she talks about her lover who tries to play her, but she sees through his lies. She mentions that he cannot answer his phone because his minutes are gone, and she had her eyes on him. Teairra confronts her lover for treating her wrong and playing with her emotions. She also adds that she was there for him when everyone was gone. The lyrics reveal her disappointment in her lover and how he's taking her for granted. The chorus then talks about how her lover wants to find out the truth but cannot handle it, and thus she tells him to find someone else who can fill his shoes.

In the second verse of the song, Teairra Marí confesses that she was cheating on her boyfriend to get back at him. She admits that she's tired of playing games and wants to grow up and make things right. She also adds that she doesn't know what their future holds together.
