テゴマス (Tegomasu) is a two-person unit made of Tegoshi Yuya (手越祐也) and Masuda Takahisa (増田貴久). They were formed in 2006 for the promotion of the Japanese talent company Johnny & Co in the Western world. Both members are also part of another Johnny's group, NEWS.
Miso Soup
They have released one single in Sweden on November 15th, 2006. The entirely English single, titled Miso Soup, had its music video played all over Sweden and reached #12 on the Swedish music charts. The single was released a little over a month later in Japan, only in Japanese, and debuted at #1 on the Oricon charts.
Post-Miso Soup Activity
Tegomasu was assumed by most fans as a temporary unit until it was announced that they would be the official 2007 Spring High School Volleyball Championships cheer unit (this is the largest high school volleyball event in Japan and is a widely watched program). They perform at games and help promote the event.
Tegomasu is also singing the opening and ending themes for the anime Lovely Complex. The out-tro theme is called Kiss ~Kaerimichi no Love Song~ and the opening is Kimi + Boku = Love.
Tegomasu has released a second single with the title track Kiss ~Kaerimichi no Love Song~. There were be two editions of this single sold, one limited CD+DVD and one regular edition. It was released on May 16th, 2007. Both versions include other songs as well. The DVD for the limited edition include making-of footage for the PV of the title song.
