The idea for the project began one day a couple of years ago when Alaina made fun of Patrick for playing tennis in college. A year later the two fled their hometown Denver to spend eight months sailing and exploring the North Atlantic coast. During their adventures they began writing music together documenting their experiences. The Longboat Pass Songfacts reports that the pair eventually recorded their songs. The resulting album, Cape Dory, is about their time on the seas, the majority of the tracks being about the difficulties they experienced during their trip.

2. Australian Indie band containing two brothers, two cousins and a mystery bass player. Tennis have left the halcyon days of art school behind in pursuit of the perfect musical storm. Tennis played their first gig at a strip club in Surry Hills circa ’06, simultaneously debuting in Sydney’s indie and adult entertainment scenes.
Pursuing the former rather than the latter, Tennis have since graced the stages of many more credible venues, supporting the likes of; Matt & Kim(USA), The Ruby Suns(NZ), Wolf and Cub, Children Collide, Lost Valentinos, Tame Impala and The Holidays. Their colliding beats, wild rhythms, melodic vocals and stark atmospheres meld into a festive music de force driving listeners into a sweaty rapture.

There's nothing there for me
So far as I can see
There's nothing left for me
As a child I was told
We all possess a soul
And one day when I'm old
Oh, my mistakes, imperfections, they make me
Long for a place where they can't overtake me
There's nothing there for me
There's nothing there for me
So far as I can see
There's nothing there for me
But if you're only passing through
Then please don't forget when you do
But if you're only passing through
Then take me to heaven with you
I'd never believe in what I can't see
Oh, if all you say is true
Then take me to heaven with you
When I pass away
This will fade away
What promises I make
I know I may not stay
When I pass away
All this will fade
My promise I made
I know I may not stay
There's nothing there for me
There's nothing there for me
So far as I can see
There's nothing there for me
But if you're only passing through
Then please don't forget when you do
But if you're only passing through
Then please don't forget when you do
If you're only passing through
Then take me to heaven with you
If you're only passing through
Then take me to heaven with you
I'd never believe in what I can't see
Oh, if all you say is true
Then take me to heaven with you
"09 Take Me To Heaven" is a song that speaks about the meaning of life, the uncertainty of existence, and the desire for a higher purpose. The lyrical content seems to express the singer's search for something more than what life currently offers, as she looks for a way to escape the mundane and leave something behind before passing away. The first few lines suggest that the singer has lost all hope and feels that there's nothing left for her in life. As the song progresses, she then asks to be taken to heaven if all those things people believe in are true. The lyrics seem to suggest that the singer desires to know more about the afterlife and what it entails.
The singer then speaks about her imperfections and mistakes, which make her long for a place where they cannot overtake her. This line seems to imply that the singer desires a place where her faults and shortcomings won't matter, and she can be free to be herself. She then makes a plea to someone who is "only passing through" to take her to heaven with them. She acknowledges that she doesn't believe in what she can't see but is willing to take a chance if all the stories about heaven are true.
The song then speaks about the fleeting nature of life and how everything we do will eventually fade away. The singer acknowledges this and makes a promise that she knows she may not be able to keep. The song then ends with the repeated plea for someone to take her to heaven if they're only passing through.
Overall, the song seems to touch on themes of life, death, and the uncertainty of what lies beyond. It speaks to the idea that there may be something more profound than what we currently know or understand, and the desire to experience that "something" before passing on.
