The idea for the project began one day a couple of years ago when Alaina made fun of Patrick for playing tennis in college. A year later the two fled their hometown Denver to spend eight months sailing and exploring the North Atlantic coast. During their adventures they began writing music together documenting their experiences. The Longboat Pass Songfacts reports that the pair eventually recorded their songs. The resulting album, Cape Dory, is about their time on the seas, the majority of the tracks being about the difficulties they experienced during their trip.

2. Australian Indie band containing two brothers, two cousins and a mystery bass player. Tennis have left the halcyon days of art school behind in pursuit of the perfect musical storm. Tennis played their first gig at a strip club in Surry Hills circa ’06, simultaneously debuting in Sydney’s indie and adult entertainment scenes.
Pursuing the former rather than the latter, Tennis have since graced the stages of many more credible venues, supporting the likes of; Matt & Kim(USA), The Ruby Suns(NZ), Wolf and Cub, Children Collide, Lost Valentinos, Tame Impala and The Holidays. Their colliding beats, wild rhythms, melodic vocals and stark atmospheres meld into a festive music de force driving listeners into a sweaty rapture.

Oo-whoa-oh
It was a summer day,
When you took my cares away
And it was so sweet,
She can blow us off track, so marry me,
You found the weathered boat,
Ocean baby you would know,
When you feel the bow cutting through the waves
No other motion can pass the day
Seafarer look what you've done
Got me chasing after the sun
I've left my home and friends behind
You've driven me clean out of my mind
Don't tell me when you've set sail
You'd face a number if you could scale
I know I never learned to set the oar
Nothing left for me back on shore
Will you call on me when you're living on the sea?
Will you call on me when your living on the
Oh-oo-oo-oh-oo-oo-ohoh-o
Oh-oo-oo-oh-oo-oo-ohoh-o
Seafarer I must love you,
Why else would I follow you
I've left my home and friends behind
You've driven me clean out of my mind
Seafarer, oh-o-oh, you and I belong together
Seafarer, oh-o-oh, you and I belong oh-o-o-oh-whoa
Seafarer, oh-o-oh, you and I belong together
Seafarer, oh-o-oh, you and I belong oh-o-o-oh-whoa
The song "Seafarer" by Tennis is a passionate ode to a lover who is a sailor. The first verse of the song paints a picture of a sweet summer day where the singer's lover whispers sweet nothings to her and takes her cares away. She then asks the sailor to marry her because he knew how to navigate through life's difficult waters. The second verse shows the singer's unwavering love and loyalty to the sailor, as she has left her home and friends behind to follow him. She even admits that she has been driven out of her mind by her love for him.
The chorus captures the essence of the song perfectly, as it shows the singer's unwavering dedication to the seafarer. She sings about how she has left everything behind and is now chasing the sun with him. The song ends with her asking the sailor if he will call on her when he is living on the sea.
Overall, "Seafarer" is a beautifully written love song that captures the excitement and passion of a love that knows no bounds.
