Bevimmo quanno chiove e quanno scenne 'a neve se magna
Sunammo 'e tarantelle quanno ll'aria è scura
Sunammo 'e tarantelle pe nunn'avè paura
Cagnano 'e tiempe e cagnano 'e padruni
Sulo 'int' e sacche nostre nun ce vene mai 'a fortuna
Sunammo 'e tarantelle quanno 'o viento votta
Brigante Sacco e brigante Fuoco
Vui site comm'a bestie
E comm'a bestie è poco
Brigante Sacco e brigante Fuoco
Vui site comm'a bestie
E comm'a bestie è poco
Dicette Garibaldi: "Chesta terra è a vostra"
E nuie c'ammo creduto e c'ammo fatte assai cchiù tuoste
Ma mo' chi sa cumm'è, ce resta 'o resto 'e niente
Simmo briganti e guappe, sempre cchiù pezzienti
E sò passate ll'anni e è sempre 'a stessa canzone
Na vota era 'o piemonte e n'ata vota era 'o burbone
Ma pure chiste e mo', overo so fetienti
Chi 'o tene s'o mantene... n'culo a chi nun tene niente

The lyrics of Teresa De Sio's song "Sacco e fuoco" describe the life of bandits who were born and raised in the mountains, where they had to face harsh living conditions. The bandits talk about their struggles with time and their masters, claiming that they never had any luck in the things they pursued. The song signifies their tales of bravery and resilience in the face of extreme adversity while also highlighting their love for music and dance. They dance to the rhythm of tarantella, even when the skies are dark, and the winds are strong, signifying their unbroken spirit.
The song then mentions Brigante Sacco and Brigante Fuoco, who were the most infamous bandits of the time. The lyrics call them beasts, but that it is equivalent to calling them by a small name, as they were much worse. The song mentions how even Garibaldi once claimed their land to be their own, but the bandits never had much good luck or fortune in their lives, struggling to make ends meet. They were always depicted as thieves and robbers by the government, and the song implies their survival instincts and their cunning nature to obtain what they need to keep going.
Overall, the lyrics of "Sacco e fuoco" represents the bandits' everyday struggles, music, and dance, their love for their land, and their unyielding spirit towards adversity.
