Terius Youngdell Nash (born June 14, 1978 in Rockingham, North Carolina), better known by his stage name The-Dream, is is a Grammy Award winning American R&B singer-songwriter, producer and Executive Vice President of Island Def Jam Records. In 2007 he released his debut album Love/Hate which spawned three top 20 singles. In 2009 he released his second album, Love vs. Money, which reached #2 on the Billboard 200 and features guest appearances from artists such as Kanye West. In June 2010, his third album, Love King, was released. It peaked at #4 on the Billboard 200.

Afterwards, he was taken in by his grandfather, who was an avid music fan. It was through this relationship that he was introduced to many legendary artists that made up his grandfather’s record collection. As soon as he heard the soulful sounds of Sam Cooke and Al Green, The-Dream was hooked. In the third grade he began his musical venture by enrolling in introductory trumpet classes at Grove Park Elementary School. He continued playing the trumpet through high school and later learned to play the drums and guitar.
In junior high and high school his musical influences extended toward such artists such as Timbaland, Missy Elliot, Aaliyah and Tupac Shakur. His talents continued to naturally develop and eventually lead The-Dream to begin producing, singing, rapping and song writing.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, okay
Yeah, yeah, yeah, what up Rozay
[Chorus]
This is Rolex music (uhh)
Sittin' in the back of the 62", just me & my boo
We always with the baddest hoes, fuck the status quo
You can't see me (uhh), you can't see me (uhh)
Give a fuck what you think, blowing bottles of that drink (uhh)
You can't see me (uhh), you can't see me (uhh)
Shawty we shut it down, down, down, you can't see me
Red Ferrari, me and my cutie pie
Blowing money fast, westside shawty 'til I die
Back to the haters, wind in my face
Louis Vuitton shades, Levi jeans
And I feel like Master P cause my cards ain't got limits
Pull a black Visa - buy a black Jesus
My nigga Chris say he can't imagine what this is
Can't wait until you get home, nigga look how we living
Waking up, breaking up with the baddest bitches
I heard my cousin told his mother "that nigga gettin it"
So this goes out to them haters, fuck you and your blank stare
Arm out the window, smiley face, Rollie in the air
[Chorus]
You already know what it is when you see me
Radio Killa straight out of the C P T
Compton if you didn't know, westside 'til I die
Hair down my back, Gucci Print on the bag
Cali swagger, rollie on my arm
See I been to hell and back, and I put that on my mom
And now I'm in the building with the hottest nigga doing it
Gotta get that money baby, that's why I'm pursuin it
It's a celebration when them gold presidential links
Are wrapped around your wrist, yeah, shawty is the shit
So this song for them haters, fuck you and your blank stare
Smiley face, Rollie way up in the motherfucking air
[Chorus]
Yeah, yeah, yeah, you know it
Yeah, yeah, yeah, you know it
Yeah, yeah, yeah, Compton in this bitch
Yeah, yeah, yeah, you know it

In Terius Nash's song 'Rolex', he takes pride in his wealth and status, flaunting his luxurious lifestyle through the lyrics. He boasts of sitting in the back of his 62” (possibly referring to a classic car) with his significant other, and how they only associate with the "baddest hoes". He claims that people can't see him, insinuating that he is above the rest of society and that his lifestyle is out of reach for most. Nash also makes reference to his red Ferrari and his Gucci print bag, showcasing that he has a taste for high-end, designer brands. In the chorus, he makes it clear that he is shutting down any hate he would receive and states that he is holding up his Rolex watch in defiance.
The song’s lyrics have a sense of braggadocio and confidence, which is a common theme in many rap songs. Nash boasts of ‘blowing money fast’ and having a ‘black Visa’ which can buy even a ‘black Jesus’. He talks about how he's already been to 'hell and back', suggesting his journey to gain success hasn't been easy, and he showcases his determination to continue pursuing money. The overall message in the song is that Nash has made it to the top, and he won't tolerate any hate or disrespect.
