Giants
Texas King Lyrics

They're coming out of the doors
They′re coming out of the basement
But I don't know whats in store
So I said no
Cause were up against the giants
You can see them cause their 9 feet tall tonight
They're coming over later
Then ask me some stupid questions
Then walk out of the door
But I said no you can′t just leave now
The monsters were lingering
They′re waiting for you cops to leave
So they could make me scream
But I won't go
Because we′re up against the giants you can beat them
If you believe it in your heart
And if you fall down you can stand your ground
And take them out tonight.
Yeah the giants and all you got is a cop gun
So you point aim shoot tonight
And you may not be freaking out
You should be freaking out
Nobody can defeat the giants
The lyrics of Texas King's song "Giants" speak to the feeling of being overwhelmed and facing seemingly insurmountable challenges in life. The opening lines depict a sense of fear and uncertainty, as the singer describes various sources from which these "giants" are emerging - the closet, doors, and basement. The mention of not knowing what's in store adds to the suspense and anxiety in the situation.
In the chorus, the singer asserts their refusal to back down, stating "So I said no" to these giants. They acknowledge the intimidating nature of the giants, describing them as "9 feet tall," suggesting their immense size and power. However, the singer believes that it is possible to overcome these giants by acknowledging one's own strength and courage.
The second verse introduces the idea of someone coming to gather information and ask questions, possibly representing authority figures or outside forces trying to understand the situation. Despite their presence, the singer insists that these monsters or giants are still lingering, waiting for the opportunity to strike and provoke fear. The refusal to leave or give in to the giants highlights the determination to face them head-on.
The bridge emphasizes the limited resources available to fight against these giants, with the mention of having only a "cop gun." Despite this limitation, the singer encourages defiance and bravery, urging listeners to point, aim, and shoot at the giants. The final assertion that "nobody can defeat the giants" serves as a rallying cry, suggesting that the battle against personal obstacles requires inner strength and resilience.
Overall, "Giants" by Texas King delivers a message of empowerment, urging listeners to face their fears and challenges head-on, even when it may seem impossible.
