Just Different

In a dream, my heart, somewhere in the dark
In the drop
Missed a couple parts then it stopped
But the beat dranged
I can't think straight, yeah
Like a work of art lookin' at my heart
On the wall, tell me what it mean to ya, he say she say
I tried to explain the words are just words, no difference
The love in my heart is not the same, it's just different
And you break my heart
You gotta hit the start
You surprised, do it every time
Then you go for a drive on your side
Actin' like I'm not lovin' every drop
Doin' for well over the top
Goin' wild, free way
If they see me
I tried to explain the words are just words, can't quit this
The love in my heart is not the same, it's different
Know you know you hurtin' baby
Just don't understand
I swear, I swear
Just don't understand
I don't wanna, I don't wanna
I don't wanna, I don't wanna
In "Just Different," Teyana Taylor sings about a love that is difficult to grasp and understand. She speaks of a heart that is somewhere in the dark, having missed a couple of parts before stopping, and a beat that merely drags. Though she tries to explain that the love she has is "just different," it's ignored. The heartache that comes with the love she shares is incredible; it's something that she can't explain to others. The song implies that loving someone can be challenging, but it's a love that she can't quit.
The first verse suggests that Teyana's heart is a work of art, hung on a wall for people to analyze and interpret. She implores her listeners to tell her what her art means to them, to try to understand her love. No matter what she says or does, she can't seem to communicate the depth and complexity of her affection. The second verse presents a different perspective, showing that the person she loves is hurting her. Despite this, she can't let go of her love, and it is something that is "just different" from what others experience.
In summary, "Just Different" is a song about a love that is complicated and hard to describe. Despite the confusion that this love brings, Teyana Taylor cannot let go of it. The song explores the intricacies of romantic relationships and how it can be challenging to communicate love.
