Along the way they’ve racked up two ‘Tune of the Month’ awards in Mixmag, topped digital charts, and helped headline the BBC 6 Music festival in their native Bristol last year. In 2015 they were snapped up by Jalapeno Records, and dropped their debut album, As We Do Our Thing, a year later. The LP took in all their funk, soul, disco, hip-hop and breakbeat influences, and featured guest vocals from HypeMan Sage, BluRum13 and Ugly Duckling’s Andy Cooper, who mesmerized in lead single/video, Rock Rock.
The Allergies’ second album, Push On, is set for release in the summer of 2017.

The lyrics of The Allergies's song "Love Somebody" convey a message of the importance and joy of loving someone. The repetition of the phrase "Love is good when you love somebody" emphasizes the positive and fulfilling experience of loving another person. The use of the word "Ooh" and the exclamation "Yeah" throughout the song adds a sense of exuberance and passion to the sentiment being expressed.
The lyrics also address a perception that the singer's love may not be recognized or believed by the other person, as indicated by the lines "You don't think that I love you, but I bet you I do." This suggests a desire to communicate and affirm the depth of the singer's feelings, despite any doubts or misconceptions that may exist. The repeated assertion that love is indeed present, even if not immediately apparent, conveys a sense of conviction and determination in the singer's voice.
The line "You don't think that I want you baby. But I got news for you" could be interpreted as a declaration of the singer's intentions and desires, challenging any assumptions or uncertainties that may exist in the relationship. The playful tone in the lyrics, indicated by the use of "ha ha" and the energetic delivery, suggests a sense of light-heartedness and flirtation in the expression of affection.
The repeated refrain "Love is good when you love somebody" serves as a central theme and affirmation in the song, emphasizing the inherent value and positivity of love in connecting with another person. The repetition of this message, combined with the spirited delivery and playful lyrics, creates a catchy and upbeat tune that celebrates the joy and fulfillment that loving somebody can bring. Ultimately, the song captures the essence of love as a powerful and transformative force that enriches and uplifts the lives of those who experience it.
