RIP since january 2005 The band known as The Allstars went through a lot of things before actually becoming what it is right now. Having struggled to find [solid] members for over three years, the final addition to the line-up was made in late 2003 with our beloved guitar player Alex. Like most bands that have evolved in the Punk and/or Hardcore scenes, the purpose of our formation was first and foremost the creation of an outlet through which we could speak our minds. We all love hardcore for many different reasons. Weβve all grown up listening to it and now, we feel the time has come for us to contribute to its existence by offering this humble and personal contribution as a band. We do not aim to become models, we certainly arenβt the next βbig thingβ; weβre a handful of kids who sees the inherent problems of our world and are trying to make it a little better. We may not succeed but we will do our best. We all believe that hardcore should be about sharing ideals, being true to your beliefs and having a good time while being part of a broader networked community. Thatβs what The Allstars are all about. As we all know, the great punk/hardcore movement is slowly decaying and losing sight of itself as it is being overwhelmed by MTV doppelgangers and their croonies, who treat hardcore as a consumer good. While many kids are raping hardcoreβs original ideals by stealing its image in a pretentious and fashionable manner, there are still some out there who are sincere and who will keep up the fight to perpetuate the tradition. Our music goes out to them, it goes out to everyone who will oppose the negative effects that corporate interest has on hardcore but also on upon our daily lives. The battle must and will go on. We strongly believe there is still hope for the scene and the goals it once stood for. We canβt reinvent the movement or correct its history, but we can carry the torch and we can march in the footsteps of our predecessors to keep this dream alive. This is our share, our way to thank back the hardcore scene for what it had given us.

If I had da bag

I'd stack that it up

So that'd be my (whoo)

Ain't finna treat me like ya boy is average

That's making them pissed at me

They just get mad at my victory

The Allstars' song "Pump It Up!" features a range of lyrics and themes, but predominantly focuses on the pursuit of money, success, and living a lavish lifestyle. In the first verse, the singer talks about their desire to make money and stack it up quickly, with the hope of avoiding any crashes or accidents. Despite not having insurance to help them in the event of an accident, their pursuit of wealth is unwavering. The singer talks about being driven to make progress and succeed, even in the face of opposition, with some people frustrated by their victory.
The song also features other references to money, with various lyrics discussing getting cash, doubling up money and getting rich, as well as driving fast cars and wearing diamonds. Throughout the lyrics, there is a clear emphasis on making money and getting rich, with the singer seemingly determined to succeed at all costs. Beyond the wealth-related themes, there is a sense of toughness and rebellion that comes across in the lyrics, with references to being posted up like a villain and running through the ceiling, as well as the use of profanity and references to drugs and violence.

Growing Love
2023 and I am still listening to this! I am 27 and now I make my own music with P-Funk and G-Funk as the influence
Selections From a Music Historian
This is beyond a description... the essence of FUNK. For every concert I saw when the Mothership dropped, I can only say - no one else did what George did on stage. God bless him and his crew; and my deepest sympathies for the loss of Bernie Worrell, Robert 'P-Nut' Johnson and Walter 'Junie' Morrison over the past year.

You got it!

Went to many concerts back then. They were the BEST!! Still dancing to them on my kitchen floor, at age 63.
DoctorCheryl, Historian
this might seem counterintuitive, but I listened to SO MUCH P-Funk/George Clinton while writing my doctoral thesis in Early Modern Scottish history - while in Scotland no less that I should give credit to the band... They helped me stay loose. Love them so much. Really wish I could see them live before I pop off.
matthew thomson
I seen them live supported rhcp. They were better then rhcp. I was stoned so that prob swayed my judgement haha

You may also be a Doctor of P-funk Now. Thing is I'm going through something now and also turned to P-Funk. Hoping it will help me relax as I face the challenge.
Michelle Jones
I agree DoctorCheryl. I saw them a number of times when I was younger. I lived down the road from Bush Stadium in Indianapolis IN, USA. I wish that I could have seen them live during this period ( circa 1999). They didnβt put on a show, they gave you a unforgettable EXPERIENCE β€οΈπΆπΌ

If you were listening to to this to help you get through, I know you were also listening to average white band!!
