The Ambassador Lyrics

I can see the signs, I can see the signs
I can see the light, I can see the light
Nobody has to die (no, not tonight)
In The Ambassador's song "I Wanna See," the artist talks about being able to see the light and the signs. It is unclear what these signs and light may be, but the repetition of the phrase suggests that it is something important. The chorus culminates in the line "Nobody has to die (no, not tonight)" which can be seen as a plea for peace and an end to violence. The song seems to be a call for hope and for a better future.
The verses of the song talk about different social issues such as poverty, crime, and racism. The Ambassador paints a picture of a broken society and calls for change. In the second verse, he raps about injustices faced by black men in America and confronts institutionalized racism. He talks about a system that is "designed to hold us down" and the need to "stand up for what's right."
