2. The Ark is a glam rock band from VĂ€xjö, Sweden. The band was formed in 1991 by Ola Salo, Mikael Jepson, and Lasse Ljungberg. Martin AxĂ©n joined the band in 1997, and Sylvester Schlegel in â99. Jens Andersson was the last one to officially join, in October 2006. Jens is a familiar face from many The Ark gigs, as he has played the keyboard with the band for several years. Their lyrics are mostly written by singer Ola Salo, and many of them are controversial, especially the earlier ones. For example, the 2002 single Father of a Son is about homosexualsâ right to have children. The band tour Scandinavia, Germany and Italy regularly and were one of the support acts to The Darkness on their 2006 UK tour.
The Ark participated in, and won, the Swedish Melodifestivalen 2007 with the song âThe Worrying Kindâ, written by Ola Salo. The song was also Swedenâs Eurovision 2007 entry and is included on their fourth album, Prayer For The Weekend. In the spring of 2010, the band relased their fifth album In Full Regalia and toured somewhat in connection with this. On December 8th 2010, the band announced on their website that they would release a greatest hits-album in early 2011, marking their 20th anniversary as a band. In connection with this, there is to be a club tour in Scandinavia. However, the band also announced that this would be their last club tour, only followed by some festival shows during the summer. The reason for this was said to be that the band felt they had achieved what they intended to artistically, and felt it was time to move on.
In early 2020 the band announced they will make a comeback with a summer tour around Sweden

The Worrying Kind
The Ark Lyrics

Grooves, I like to shake them
Shake me from my troublesome mind
Cause sometimes you'll find
That I'm out of my mind
You see baby, I'm the worrying kind
Words I'd like to shake 'em
Shake them from my troublesome mind
And you turn up your nose
It's a joke you suppose
But baby, I'm the worrying kind
So if you see me somewhere
With that glassy ol' stare
And the panic and fear in my eyes
Don't call for first aid or the fire brigade
Or the local police cause they won't care
I'm just a silly old boy with my head in the can
I'm just a mortal with potential of a superman
But what sense does it make
When I feel like a fake
When I'm saying to you all be good for goodness sake?
Words, I like to break 'em
Words I'd like to shake 'em
Shake them from my troublesome mind
And why? -Heaven knows, It's a joke I suppose
But baby, I'm the worryin' kind
So if you see me somewhere
With that glassy ol' stare
And the panic and fear in my eyes
Don't call for first aid or the fire brigade
Or the local police cause they won't care
I'm just silly old boy with my head in the can
I'm just a mortal with potential of a superman
But what sense does it make
When I feel like a fake
When I'm saying to you all be good for goodness sake?
Ooh! Words, I like to break 'em
Words I'd like to shake 'em
Shake them from my troublesome mind
And why? Heaven knows,
It's Gods joke I suppose
But baby, I'm the worryin' kind
And You turn up your nose
And you say it's a pose
But Baby, I'm the worryin' kind
Yeah sometimes I'm blind
I'm just out of my mind
Baby, I'm the worryin' kind
The Ark's song The Worrying Kind is a lively and upbeat tune that ultimately delves into the singer's introspective nature. The lyrics describe someone who is full of energy and enjoys making moves and shaking grooves. However, this energy is often overshadowed by their worrisome nature. This person is prone to feeling out of their mind and plagued by panic and fear. They feel like they are constantly putting on a facade, as if they are a "silly old boy" pretending to be something they are not. Despite their outgoing nature, they are the "worrying kind."
The theme of the song is that sometimes even the most energetic and outgoing people can struggle with inner turmoil. They may feel like they are hiding their true selves and that they don't fit in with others. They may worry about things that others don't even think about. By expressing these feelings through upbeat and catchy music and lyrics, The Ark gives voice to those who feel like they are the "worrying kind."
