Previously The Art recorded a self-titled E.P produced by Nick Launay (Yeah Yeah Yeah’s, Nick Cave, Supergrass, INXS) and released on his own US label, ‘Stick It To The Man’, followed by the successful independent release of single ‘Goodbye’ soon after. Their forthcoming album was mostly recorded at ‘The Bubble’, Frenchie’s own studio and will include tracks from both Nick Launay and Manny Nieto (The Breeders, Health, Rumspringa) that they recorded in LA during time off from touring.

Disappear into the evening sky
Oh you know I'm with you on your journey
Never could say goodbye
It's not the sun you're trying to find
Something else is on your mind
You need a little space and time
It's not the place you're going to
It's just a phase you're going through
Though I won't stop you I don't want you to
Break away
Fly across your ocean
Break away
Time has come for you
Break away
Fly across your ocean
Break away
Time has come
For you to awaken in another country
Greet the morning under foreign skies
Leaving me to face another Monday
It's not easy to get by
It's not the sun you're trying to find
Something else is on your mind
You need a little space and time
To break away
It's not the place you're going to
It's just a phase you're going through
Though I won't stop you I don't want you to
Break away
Fly across your ocean
Break away (breakaway)
Time has come for you
Break away (breakaway)
Fly across your ocean
Break away (breakaway)
Time has come for you
The Art's song "Break Away" is a poignant tribute to the bittersweet feeling of watching someone you love go away on a journey of self-discovery. The opening lines of the song paint a vivid picture of a departing plane, signaling the beginning of a journey that the singer will not be able to share with their loved one. The lyrics express a sense of longing and the desire to hold on to the person, even as they embark on their own journey of growth and self-discovery.
The song speaks to the idea that sometimes, people need to break away from their current surroundings in order to find themselves. The singer acknowledges that the person they care about is not searching for the sun or even a specific place, but rather space and time to explore themselves. The lyrics capture the complex emotions of letting go of someone you love, even though you don't want to. Through the chorus, the message of the song becomes clear - though it may be difficult, the time has come for the person to fly across the ocean and break away.
Overall, "Break Away" is a powerful song that captures the pain and beauty of letting go. It speaks to the idea that sometimes, love means giving someone the space and freedom to grow, even if that means risking losing them. The lyrics are full of honesty and vulnerability, and the soaring chorus makes it clear that even though goodbye is hard, it can also be freeing.

Dazzling Action
TLDR; Be your self. Do what you want.
Don't paint with pure black...
Black is in the photo...
Black makes for more stylistic dramatic shading and allows contrast...
Everybody is afraid of using it. Everybody just draws too lightly in general.
Also C O N T R A S T!
Don't trace but be consistent...
but tracing allows me to be consistent?
C O P Y of a copy of a copy... Learn construction and anatomy if you're making characters and creatures...?
Brushes do matter per project.
Just depends on what effect you want to do.
Also for C O N S I S T A N C Y for projects...?
Use fast strokes if you want to have clean out lines like for some cartoons.
Don't hatch / chicken scratch at them unless your sketching? Unless its for aesthetics...?
Use sketches... Use layers... Allow your self to make it messy in the beginning.
Also speed just depends on the type of brush you're using.
Varying pen pressure is a good thing if your going for a more natural looking line
or if you're going after an ol' comic book style.
Line art is a stylistic choice.
Learn your fundies. Draw what you love. Do you!
If you draw it. If you paint it. If you pixel it. If you sculpt it. If you... Just do. It's art.
You'll go though phases. Just takes time to do what you want.
Do what you want. Don't allow others to gate keep. Just be your self.
Also remember sometimes people are just butts and it's ok to block / mute them.
Just report or block them before drama flings off the wall. DRAMA OF THE MONTH isn't worth it.
I also feel like most of the broken rules are just people hating on the comic book and anime art style....
I T' S A N A E S T H E T I C S... If an artist is drawing something truly harmful stop them.
If you're just mad over an art work stop looking at it. Take a brake and think.
Sorry, Ergo needed to rant.

All i can this is: There is no art police. If you "break the rules" no one will arrest you. I think with lots of practice and experience you understand where those rules come from and why you should or shouldn't break them.

"Every winding path, mistake or juncture that you take on your art journey has really contributed to the artist that you end up being today."
THIS. 1000%.

I started my love for art by drawing flowers. Only flowers and then later more plants. but I was such a flower girl, every doodle was a flower and it got better and better. And then I started following other artists and forced myself to start doing characters and backgrounds. I completely left flowers behind. I never realized. Wow.

"You can never be a better version of somebody else, you can only be You" ---This hit me hard.
In the past years I've always wanted to be like the Artists that I idolized, so much so that I hated myself for not being good enough, and hated everyone else for being too Good.
I was immature, but I did snap out of it. Took me years, but I did gain the wisdom and understanding.
Just goes to show that Art itself is a long journey of self discovery, with no clear paths to take, just passion to keep you going; but regardless, it'll be worth it.

This whole video gives me the "the code is more what you'd call "guidelines" than actual rules" vibes from pirates of the carribean

I would like to go to the “brushes don’t matter” rule to say this: they do not matter until you know what you like. If you want your piece to look a certain way then use that brush ^^
