Read Full Bio ↴There are two groups known as the Beatnix. Both are Beatles cover bands.
1) The Beatnix concept was conceived and assembled in March 1980 by founding member Tony Dean, rhythm guitarist and vocalist (now retired to full-time management) as a live performance entity. This puts it amongst the longest running Beatles Tribute Shows in the world. The Beatnix show includes fully authentic musical instruments similar to those used by The Beatles. These include very rare and valuable guitars by Gretsch, Hofner, Rickenbacker and Gibson, Vox AC30 guitar amplifiers and a Vox AC50 bass amplifier with a T60 bass cabinet. The drums are identical to the ones used by Ringo, a 1960's model Ludwig Black Oyster Pearl kit complete with Zildjian cymbals. This, combined with a range of early period Beatle costumes and the colourful Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band outfits, give you the complete Beatles experience.
2) The Beatnix was the name of a project started by members of the Beatels before that band was formally started. They recorded a well-known collection of Lennon/McCartney songs called It's Four You, which was released at a time when the original Beatles recordings of those songs had never been officially published. Although the front cover and spine of the CD release do not name a band, the Beatnix drum logo occupies a large portion of the back cover. Soon after the release of this album, the actual Beatles recordings were published as part of the Anthology project.
This band continues to tour as the Beatels, and has played internationally since 1996.

So nice that you laid down so much effort to give us an idea of how these fabulous songs most likely
would have sounded had The Beatles taken the time to record these songs that they simply gave away.
These songs could very easily be mistaken for a real Beatles recording.
I guess that was the whole idea - to make the album that The Beatles never recorded.
In that case, I don't think that anyone else could have done it any better.
A real pity that they didn't take the time to do proper recordings of the songs that they gave away
to help out other artists. It would easily make up an extra full double album.
This is the closest we'll ever get to having a new album with The Fab Four.
Thanks Beatnix for creating such a fabulous album. You really did a great job on this one.
Wish we could have this album on Spotify !

Wow, nearly indistingushable from the original to my ear.

Any other band this would have been a single. The Beatles' quality control department gave it away.

I hope I can find all 19 of these songs on YouTube. I'd buy more CDs if I could find 'em.
