Reflecting on when I first started dating my girlfriend.

It seemed just like a dream
I was once smitten with my girlfriend and our relationship was almost too good to be true.

However, things changed when she thought she had control over me.

Her behavior took on a negative and unpleasant turn.

It was as if my girlfriend was leading me around like a little helpless lamb.

I felt like I had lost control of the relationship and she had taken over totally.

However, I have now decided to stand up and take control back.

I refuse to let any girlfriend take advantage of me or make me look foolish again.

I, too, am curious about how I changed and became more jaded.

Once I was full of sentiment, it's true
I used to be quite sentimental and emotional.

However, I have now hardened my heart and made it more cruel and indifferent to others' feelings.

With all that other foolishness I'm through
I won't be acting foolishly in a romantic sense again.
