Formed in premise in the summer of 2000 while Mark Clayden and Matt Grundy were touring America in Pitchshifter (Clayden is a charter member of 'Shifter, and Grundy did a brief but memorable stint as a touring guitarist during 2000), the genesis for the band really didn't happen until the end of the following year, when Karl Middleton (ex-Earthtone9), Chris Billam and Will Burchell (both of Consumed) came into the fold.
The sound is a almost perfect blend of the electronic soundscaping with Earthtone9's intense and progressive melodies.
The group have only released one album to date and two ep's.
Shortly after signing to Golf in 2004 the band ground to a halt as other commitments became priority, both Clayden and Middleton taking up residency as tutors at the Brighton Institute of Modern Music. Since the disbandment of The Blueprint, Middleton has gone on to work on another slow burning project "Twin Zero" as well as all the members having some form of involvment with the collective concept that spawned This Is Menace.

so free with praise heaped on unworthy subjects
I'm so sorry that this is not what you wanted
You must be so disappointed that we failed
To deliver just for you
(the) Killer hooks to get right under your
Skin so thick we'd need a harpoon
We're dropping bombs here
Thank you so much,
for your well valued critique
It has been noted
Noted that I have lost all respect for you
Your so quick to judge you're opinion void
Take some time to absorb these
Killer hooks to get right under your
Skin so thick we'd need a harpoon
Have some patience wait and see
We're dropping bombs here
Killer hooks to get right under your
Skin so thick we'd need a harpoon
Have some patience wait and see
THIS HAS ONLY JUST BEGUN
In the song "Sans Chorus," The Blueprint addresses the issue of people being too quick to judge and dismissive towards things they don't fully understand. The opening lines suggest the songwriter's frustration with people who are free with their praise for unworthy subjects and how they are disappointed that the artist has failed to deliver what they wanted. The lyrics then transition into a sarcastic tone, thanking the audience for their criticism while simultaneously noting that they have lost all respect for them.
The Blueprint goes on to assert that it takes time to absorb the killer hooks they're dropping in the song, comparing them to harpoons that can pierce even the thickest of skin. Despite the audience's impatience and quickness to judge, the artist urges them to have patience and wait to see what happens next because "this has only just begun."
Overall, "Sans Chorus" is a powerful commentary on the dismissive nature of modern society, where people rush to judgment and fail to appreciate art for what it truly is. The songwriter challenges listeners to take a step back, absorb their lyrics and appreciate the excellence contained within.

Great song, Great EP. The album doesn't quite follow up as well, I have difficulty listening to it one sitting. I think The Blueprint opened for FFAF a few shows, I can't remember. Loads better then them anyway.
