The Chris and Joylene Show Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
But you weren't honest
Now get in the ground
You choked off the surest of favors
But if you really loved me
You would have endured my world
Well if you're just as I presumed
A whore in sheep's clothing
And if so here we stop
Then never again
Will you see this in your life
Hang on to the glory at my right hand
Here laid to rest is our love ever longed
With truth on the shores of compassion
You seem to take premise to all of these songs
You stormed off to scar the armada
Like Jesus played letter
I'll drill through your hands
The stone for the curse you have blamed me
With love and devotion, I'll die as you sleep
But if you could just write me out
To neverless wonder, happy will I become
Be true that this is no option
So with sin, I condemn you
Demon play, demon out
Hang on to the glory at my right hand
Here laid to rest is our love ever longed
With truth on the shores of compassion
You seem to take premise to all of these songs
One last kiss for you
One more wish to you
Please make up your mind, girl
I'd do anything for you
One last kiss for you
One more wish to you
Please make up your mind, girl
Before I hope you die
The lyrics to The Chris and Joylene Show's song "Welcome Home" tell a story of betrayal and anger in a troubled relationship. The first verse conveys feelings of disappointment and hurt. The singer expresses that the subject had the potential to be everything they wanted, but their lack of honesty led to their downfall. The line "Now get in the ground" suggests a desire for the subject to face the consequences of their actions.
The second verse continues the narrative, describing the subject as someone who manipulates and deceives ("whore in sheep's clothing") and negatively affects the singer's life. The phrase "And if so here we stop, then never again will you see this in your life" indicates the end of the relationship and a determination to move on.
The chorus introduces a new perspective. The line "Hang on to the glory at my right hand" suggests that the singer has found solace and strength in themselves, leaving behind the love that they longed for in the past. The reference to "truth on the shores of compassion" hints at the importance of honesty and empathy in relationships. However, the subject seems to dismiss or misunderstand the meaning behind these songs.
The final verse reveals the singer's anger and desire for revenge. They metaphorically compare the subject's actions to those of Jesus, mentioning scarification and drilling through hands. The mention of a curse suggests that the subject blamed the singer for their problems, and the singer declares their willingness to die while the subject sleeps, indicating their commitment to the relationship but also the pain they have endured. The phrase "Be true that this is no option, so with sin, I condemn you, demon play, demon out" conveys a strong condemnation and desire to cut ties with the subject.
The song concludes with a plea for the subject to make a decision, highlighting the singer's desperation and love for them. The repeated line "One last kiss for you, one more wish to you" signifies a final attempt to salvage the relationship. However, the closing line "Please make up your mind, girl, before I hope you die" reveals the singer's desperation and hints at their emotional state, reflecting the intensity and complexity of the relationship.

That was neat that they gave some tribute to some of the actual acts on the Lawerence Welk show.
I went to see Lawrence Welk a good number of years ago with my mother at The NY State Fair.
Generally, on the TV show, the acts are contained to harmonize with each other. No showboating so to speak.
But when I saw them live, OMG the talent. My jaw just dropped wide open.
My mother was happy and clapping away. Then she saw the expression on my face and said,
"I told you they were good".
Anyways, every once in a while watch The Maharelle Sisters uploads and get a good laugh.
My mother would have too.
Miss ya mom.
