The Dead, also known as the Other Ones, are a North American rock band composed of former members of the Grateful Dead.

After the death of Jerry Garcia in 1995, Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Mickey Hart, and Bill Kreutzmann formed a band called The Other Ones. They performed concert tours in 1998, 2000, and 2002, and released one album, The Strange Remain. In 2003, they changed their name to The Dead.

In addition to Weir, Lesh, Hart and Kreutzmann, the 2003 lineup of the band included Jimmy Herring, Jeff Chimenti, Rob Barraco, and Joan Osborne. The band was first officially billed as The Dead on February 14, 2003 at the Warfield in San Francisco. Later that year, the band opened up their summer tour on June 15 at the Bonnaroo Music Festival. They ended 2003 with two New Year's dates at the Oakland Coliseum on December 30 and 31.

In 2004, Herring and Chimenti remained in the lineup, and were joined by Warren Haynes. The band played a brief winter jam and a three-month summer tour called the Wave That Flag Tour.

On February 4, 2008, Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, and Mickey Hart, along with several other musicians, performed a concert called "Deadheads for Obama", at the Warfield in San Francisco. On October 13, 2008, Weir, Lesh, and Hart, joined by Bill Kreutzmann, Warren Haynes, and Jeff Chimenti, played a second show for the Obama campaign, called "Change Rocks", at Penn State University. On January 20, 2009, the same lineup played at one of the ten official balls for the inauguration of President Obama.

On January 1, 2009, the Dead announced a 2009 spring tour schedule. The band will play 22 concerts in April and May, with a lineup of Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Bill Kreutzmann, Mickey Hart, Warren Haynes, and Jeff Chimenti.

Overall Meaning

The Dead's song "Killing Me" is a lamentation of a man who's been a victim of a sinister love that has come knocking on his bedroom door. The singer in the song has had a rough past and spent most of his life recovering from it. He has seen and been on bad trips before and has got a terrible premonition that this love is not good news for him. He asks the question, "Why are you killing me?" to his lover, who has shown him another side that nobody sees. Despite knowing that he should've gotten out before the gettin' was good, he has fallen in love with the side of her that nobody sees.

The lyrics of the song evoke feelings of desperation, regret, and hopelessness. The singer has been down a rough road before and has managed to come out of it, but this new love is proving to be too much for him to handle. He knows that he should leave, but he can't. One thing I’ve noticed= there are those who can handle body maintenance and those who can’t..
*soaking and sterile are the two biggest things when doing anything at home..
-I help my wife with her feet. We old now. Almost 50 and her feet get crusty.
I dunno why but we soak em how water with melted Vaseline.
After 45 minutes in hot water(electric heated) her foot is super easy to then take care of..
Mainly the scraping part is quick and easy. Then the lotion sock and her feet are good for few months...

We sure don’t know how others suffer. You should have seen the looks I received after my lung transplant, cut from arm pit to arm pit when people saw my disability placard. They would see me get out of the car with no cane etc. and think I was just fine. People need to be kind and quiet.

I had deformed feet corrected with surgery and honestly, the pain that poor guy must've gone through...I can't even imagine. Having to learn to walk a different way was hard for me but at least I didn't have as bad a pain. This must have felt like walking on Legos.

I had something similar to this when I was 10. It was nowhere as severe as this and it was centered near the front of the foot about an 8th of an inch below the skin breaking outward, piercing the skin. My parents and sisters thought that it was warts and/or a mole because my sister had it in the same place and it grew out and healed overtime. I didn’t want to wait and let it grow any more so I used a scalpel, pocketknife, and a pair of tweezers to remove it fully. I didn’t use medicine of any kind so I was pretty lucky to not get infected at all.

I got a wart on yhe side of my big to when I was 13. I had the Brite idea to cut it of my self. I used a standing magnifying glass that I build models with and ice cubes to freeze the area. Ice cubes didn't help much. But I chopped it off. But not being a doctor I didn't get it all and had to go to the doctor anyways. Him and my parents were pissed I tried removing it myself.

I'm glad this isn't Tree Man Syndrome. I followed that Indonesian case for several years and no matter how many times they removed the stalks or branches, it grew back. It was heart wrenching. I didn't know he had passed away, but at least he has escaped the clutches of such a baffling and engulfing anomaly.

It was then that Dr Schaeffer revealed the biopsy results -- Basil has a hereditary condition known as Cutaneous horn. I didn't see the length of time it took to shave both feet; I'm curious what it will take to keep them somewhat healthier than they were when he showed at your office. You can tell this man is very grateful. Just imagine having this - you couldn't go walking, no dancing, (that's a given) and I am curious if this could be caused by diet. What is it that could cause it to be more soft, working like a cushion for him.

I'm just offering an opinion. But, the Tree Man's Disease - can you imagine? How in the world would anyone be able to remove them w/o the man bleeding to death? I watched the Tree man from beginning to end several times. He was on several different programs as they announced it to the audience and then showed it. You didn't have to watch it, you knew by the gasps taking place. How horrible!

I actually had something very similar to this happen to me twice! The first time the whole bottom of my foot peeled off and it was right after I'd been a very strict antibiotic regimen.
The doctor said it was due to that and the strep I was being treated for. The second time these things had started just like you are showing here. Something I did stopped it.
I knocked over a bottle of hydrogen peroxide 3% and then when I got up I had stepped in it. The next day they were gone.
The third time it happened I had spilled bleach on the floor and again it stopped the growth the nasty nasty growth to how they stopped that probably stopped it now that's not a good thing to tell other people but just saying

He has a condition called cutaneous horns. It’s an excess buildup of keratin. The body grows it faster than it can shed. It’s not life threatening. He has to undergo monthly maintenance for it.

A few years back. There was a little 8 year old girl named Charlotte. Her mother took her to the doctor in London that set up on street corners in 18 wheeler trailers. She saw a young Dr Christian who had never seen plantar warts as bad on any living body. He said he was actually speechless. He sent her for lab work and this is where it gets tricky. Her Thimus gland was not working like it should and her lab work is or was severely messed up. They ended up having to destroy what is/was, the rest of her immune system so that she could/can have a bone marrow transplant. And said that this/was basically her only shot. And it all started out as a SUPER SEVERE HYPERACTIVE case of Plantar Warts. So my point on closing is, you never know you are getting into. Take your time. Get the X-rays, the Labs, make sure with what you are dealing with. I wish I knew the rest of Charlotte’s story. If she did ok or not? Just one of those things you wonder about. God be with you all!!!!!! Good night!!!!!

Charlotte was diagnosed with severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID). Charlotte went through chemo and bone marrow transplant from her sister isabella as she couldn't produce t cells in her immune system. (I seen this on a different clip..)

I do hope that she is well and making a recovery..

Some people are afraid of the doctor which isn't good you should go to the doctor as soon as something like this comes up my husband had a lump on his head since he was a kid he showed me when we first started dating I said you should probably get that check he was like no it's fine last year his head was hurting really bad he couldn't do anything he called out from work I'm like we are going to the hospital we go to the hospital they were like it's a cyst they had to bust it to relieve his pain it was alot of pus thank God it was nothing serious

Amazing. How did he live with this. It must have been so painful and emotional. I get eczema on my hands and feet and it drives me crazy and hurts so bad. I cannot imagine this poor man. God love him. So happy he is getting help.

I get eczema all over. I use only vegan products as they have no chemicals, that's what causes outbreaks. Goats milk soap is excellent for poor skin, it's usually made with olive oil so it's very moisturising. Avoid anything with Laurel Sulphate, it's a chemical that makes bubbles, it's notorious for causing skin damage.

I use a cream called Ginatrifil Betametasona, Clotrimazol, gentamicina. Works like a charm but then again, my eczema isn't as severe. I just gets irritated and such every once in a while.

The diagnosis was that this is cutaneous horn on his feet. Super weird and looks pretty gnarly, but it’s a good outcome considering the alternatives! It’s totally treatable and while painful, completely benign and will not shorten his life or weaken his immune system the way tree-man syndrome does

My daughter has a similar condition. The bottom of her feet looked like swiss cheese, and the top of her toes like brown cauliflower. Urea cream and monthly pedicures keep it under control.

wow his feet looked better when the doctor was done i wonder what the outcome was this is such an interesting show and having my mom go through her own hell it’s just interesting to see how many different things there are that affect the feet my mom lost both her feet to very severe Charcot Marie foot disease I won’t even wish it on my worst enemy horribly painful infections almost took her life i hope this man finds out what he has its treatment is simple and he can be pain free

This one is called Olmsted Syndrome. It is a rare genodermatosis classically characterized by the combination of bilateral mutilating transgredient palmoplantar keratoderma (PPK) and periorificial keratotic plaques, but which shows considerable clinical heterogeneity. The disease starts usually at birth or in early childhood.

Not everyone has insurance & this type of shit is EXPENSIVE. I am in this same boat, with a couple medical issues. I just don’t have the money AND already have numerous high-dollar medical bills I just can’t pay.
