Kill, kill, kill hippies. Kill, kill, kill hippies.
Be the first on your block, befor it's too late,
Grab your weapon, kill a hippie today.
Kill, kill, kill hippies.
All they'll do is plant you a flower.
Kill, kill, kill hippies.
Kill, kill, kill hippies.
Alway's smelling foul, they're an eye-sore.
There is no use for, hippies no more.
Kill, kill, kill hippies.
Don't fight thing's, and be violent.
They don't even believe in self-defense.
Kill 'em 'cause their hair's too long.
Kill 'em 'cause their views were wrong.
Kill, kill, kill hippies.
Kill 'em 'cause you don't like what they're worth.
A dollar ninty-five buy's a (something?)
Kill 'em 'cause they need a straight-coat.
Kill 'em 'cause they need a straight-coat.
Kill 'em 'cause they need a straight-coat.
Destroy the hippies, get your gun.
Issue dope liscenses for everyone.
Kill, kill, kill hippies.
Destroy the hippies, do it now.
A dollar ninty-five buy's a (something?).
No matter what you do, or how outta line,
They just smile, and give you the peace sign.
Kill, kill, kill hippies.
Makes you hate 'em, much softer pace.
All the more reason to put them in their place.
Send them back to San Fransisco,
Send them back to San Fransisco,
Send them back to San Fransisco,
Now.
The Deadbeats's song "Kill the Hippies" is a punk rock classic released in the mid-1970s at the peak of punk rock culture. The song is straightforward in its message, promoting violence against the hippie culture of the 60s and early 70s, with lyrics like "Be the first on your block, before it's too late, grab your weapon, kill a hippie today." The song exudes a sense of rebellion against the softness and passivity of the hippie movement while embracing the aggression and violence of punk rock culture.
The song's lyrics contain derogatory references to hippie culture, such as "Always smelling foul, they're an eyesore" and "All they'll do is plant you a flower." The song seems to suggest that hippies were not useful members of society devoid of purpose and that their philosophies were misguided - "They don't even believe in self-defense." The chorus that repeats "Kill, kill, kill hippies" further emphasizes the song's message of violence and eradication of the hippie subculture.
In summary, "Kill the Hippies" by The Deadbeats is a punk rock classic advocating violence against the hippie movement of the 60s and 70s. The song promotes aggression and rebellion against the softness and passivity of hippie culture and deems the hippies as useless members of society.

If you played in a punk band in '77 (I did) and dealt with all the "hippie" (as we called them) bearded pony-tailed radio station coke heads and bad metal bands, all getting in our way, stealing our gigs and ripping on us, you had to ADMIRE a song like this! This song is DYING for a new version release!

When I was a teenager I got really into 60’s rock n roll and hallucinogens but I looked at modern society and I hated it and the people who prescribed to it. I would say I’m a hippie who wants to punch people in the face. Than my friend showed me Bad Brains and Black flag. I was like wow this sounds and says how I really feel.

I love the solo. It sounds like his fingers get caught in the strings, but it sounds good anyway.
