People Are Strange
The Doors Lyrics

People are strange
When you're a stranger
Faces look ugly
When you're alone
Women seem wicked
When you're unwanted
Streets are uneven
When you're down

When you're strange
Faces come out of the rain
When you're strange
No one remembers your name
When you're strange
When you're strange
When you're strange

People are strange
When you're a stranger
Faces look ugly
When you're alone
Women seem wicked
When you're unwanted
Streets are uneven
When you're down

When you're strange
Faces come out of the rain
When you're strange
No one remembers your name
When you're strange
When you're strange
When you're strange
All right, yeah!

When you're strange
Faces come out of the rain
When you're strange
No one remembers your name
When you're strange
When you're strange
When you're strange

J.darrer:

I
Hope you made it out of the asphalt jungle.
Been
There a time or two myself over the years.
Sometimes
it was my fault, Sometimes Just sh?it luck.
I
Was a drunk, but booze is it's own strung
Out
Hell, and the other animals sensed that I
think .

I think this song applies to both the internal world
of ones own inner being/experience and the
External/
greater world inhabited by others.

As above, so below/so below, as above
man...

@Richard Lee AGREE!

@mark1952able It's amazing that Jim was so far ahead of his time. He was writing this back in 1968, just think if he was alive now!

There are no words to express how I feel while listening to the Doors music. It is a mystical, outerworldly experience and Jim Morrison inspires me. There was never a band like them before, and never after... It reunites us people because we like the same thing, and it's really special compared to a lot of other fandoms. The Doors are forever.

The 60s and 70s man. I love my mother for the stories that are available. Although I wasn’t alive, she was able to tell me what it was like, my dad even but my mom hung out with my dads crowd. She graduated in ‘79 while my father graduated in ‘76. Their favorite term is “it was a different time” I contest by saying “kids in my time are doing the same thing, just your music was better 🤣” yeah you’re right you saw cooler bands. But we get to see your bands and beyond

I agree with your praise and admiration of the Doors. Outerworldly is a great way to describe the Doors experience. Love People are Strange. They really capture this in the song. And it makes you feel like you are not alone in this world of strange and insane people. May the Doors always live on. Keep the Doors "open".
