My Love
The Dream Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Thought that you could pop up on me now
Hoping that I still had you on my mind
Must say I'm surprised you remember me
Filling all them cups with Hennessy
I ain't heard from you in a long time
I wanted you to stay
You wanted it this way
I wanted you to stay
You wanted it this way
I know you feel a way inside
Where did you go with my love
Where did you go with my love
Where did you go with my love
My love
Where did you go with my love
Where did you go with my love
Where did you go with my love
My love
I had said I'm about to go live and drink
But you didn't do it in that moment
Did you do it in that moment
I did it exactly in that moment
Oh well goddamn
You two wasn't listening carefully
Y'all gonna have to use your ears
Hmmmm
Yeah
Yeah yeah
Fast life
Time flies
I cannot press rewind
Look what you left behind
Where did you go with my love
My love
Where did you go with my love
In the Dream's song "My Love," the lyrics describe the feeling of being left behind by someone you love. The song starts with the Dream talking about how the person he once loved has now become cold towards him. He describes how he thought he had moved on and would not be affected by this person anymore, but their sudden appearance shocked him. The Dream then goes on to talk about how he still remembers this person and how they used to spend time together, but it seems that the other person doesn't feel the same way anymore. He talks about how the other person may have filled their cups with Hennessy, but he hasn't heard from them in a long time.
In the chorus, the Dream asks, "Where did you go with my love?" This lyric expresses his feeling of being left behind by the person he once loved. He continues singing about how he wanted the other person to stay but they wanted it their way, and he knows that they feel the same way he does but refuse to admit it. The Dream then questions whether the other person drank and lived in the moment when they were with him, or if they did it at another time. He ultimately ends the song reminding listeners that the fast-paced life moves quickly, and time cannot be rewound.

@ramoalvarez8222
Whitney and Celine Dion has very powerful vocals, but mariah is the most versatile yes, she can go very low, then high again, and alternate between low and high, like a mid range, it's just ridiculous.
