When you brushed us side
You - you took everything
We needed to survive
You left us here with nothing but this burning hate inside
You - you took everything
Then left us here to die
We will fight until the bitter end
You will never break us
We will always find the strength to rise again
You - you tried everything
You could to make us bleed
Saying anything, to anyone
To make us enemies
You tried to burn down every bridge
To bring us to our knees
But you - you're powerless
You've got nothing that we need
You will never break us
We will fight until the bitter end
You will never break us
We will always find the strength to rise again
We will always find the strength to rise again
From the ashes we will rise again
(whispered) you took everything
You will never break us
You will never break us
You will never break us
You will never break us
You took everything
You took everything
You will never break us
We will fight until the bitter end
You will never break us
We will always find the strength to rise again
We will always find the strength to rise again
From the ashes we will rise again
You took everything
You took everything
The lyrics to The Dreaming's song Rise Again describe a triumph over adversity. The singer addresses an individual who has taken everything from them and left them with nothing but burning hate inside. Despite this loss, the singer proclaims that they will never be broken and will fight until the bitter end. They will always find the strength to rise again, even from the ashes.
The verses of the song describe the ways in which the individual tried to break the singer down. They tried to make them bleed and attempted to turn them against each other. The bridge burning imagery serves to heighten the tension of the situation, but ultimately the singer remains steadfast in their resolve. They declare that the individual is powerless and has nothing that they need.
The chorus of the song repeats the idea that the singer will never be broken and will always find the strength to rise again. The whispered repetition of "you took everything" adds to the intensity of the song and reinforces the theme of loss. However, the final repetition of the chorus provides a sense of hope and resilience.
Overall, Rise Again is a song about overcoming adversity and emerging stronger from difficult circumstances.

Can't help but think this song is about the bullshit you guys dealt with in the final days of Stabbing Westward. Great song, and great album.

ugh....i feel bad to be one of those people that isn't into the new band but I just can't do it. its not bad and Id take this over anything on the radio but its just not enough to go down as something great in my book. I know their not going to ever sound like stabbing and chis has always had a huge pop influence but its just too much now. the music is so immediate and perfect it doesn't give room/time for dynamics or tension and release. I will keep listening and try and see them on tour bc I think him and the band deserve support.
