(1) The Ducks were a short-lived hard rock supergroup formed in the July of 1977 by singer-songwriter Jeff Blackburn, and consisted of musicians Bob Mosley (an original member of Moby Grape), Canadian singer-songwriter Neil Young, and Johnny Craviotto. The band played around the Santa Cruz area due to contractual limitations. Eventually the national media was informed that Neil Young had joined a local band. His fans flooded the concerts, leading to Young's departure and the breakup of the group. There are two known recordings of full shows by The Ducks; one on August 22 at The Catalyst Nightclub, the other on September 2 at the Civic Auditorium, which was the last show by The Ducks.

Just magic, isn't it? Still my favorite Neil Song, with After Berlin a close second. Thanks be pointed to the Neil Young Fan Group who built the Archives Be Damned Project back in the day for pointing me at Neil and the Ducks.

RIP....Johnny......Rhythm Guitar - Jeff Blackburn.. his rhythm guitar was so strong for Neil to run free.. These gigs of the summer of 77 were so fun looking back ... Sitting around playing music at Bucks 38th Ave house, Neil just relaxing with the locals and having some magical fun.. Still listen to my complete catalog of Ducks music... but in Hawaii... I hear there's a Duck in Pahoa..
ALOHA Bernard.......
