Following a limited release of their debut "Fill My Little World" in late 2005, the band entered the UK Top 10 with their first full release "Sewn" in March 2006. The single was one of the year's biggest radio hits, after being played first in the UK on the Dermot O'Leary Show, BBC Radio 2, along with their first live radio session.
Their debut album Twelve Stops and Home was released in the UK on June 5, 2006 and on February 27, 2007 in the US.
February 18th 2008 they released their second album, Join With Us.
Songfacts reports that Set My World On Fire, the first single from their third album, Together We Were Made, was released on May 1, 2011. Seven weeks later, the album was released on June 20, 2011.

Stylisticly, The Feeling have a debt of gratitude to the 70s, particularly bands such as 10cc, Supertramp, Pilot, Buggles, Queen, Stackridge, and other "progressive pop" acts. They are not averse to wearing their heart on their sleeve at gigs, playing covers of tunes by their favourite artists (such as 'Video Killed The Radio Star' by Buggles).
The Feeling have also followed the 'progressive' tradition of the concept album, with Twelve Stops and Home being a concept album about lost and unrequited love. The album starts with a relationship having just broken up, then follows through with the various emotions of the protagonist from hopeless dreamer to turning to drink for comfort, and finally slumping home.

The Feeling Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Will you search through the wreckage once again?
Will you turn on your flashlight
And scan for the signs of life again?
Will you come to my rescue once again?
Will you send down some water, oxygen?
Will you come to my rescue
Come to my rescue once again?
Sometimes I get lonely
Sometimes I get lonely
Sometimes I get lonely
No, I never thought that it would be this hard
To find love
Oh, I never thought that it would be this hard
To find love
Will you come to my rescue once again?
Meaning: give me the will to sing again?
Will you come to my rescue
Come to my rescue once again?
Sometimes I get lonely
Sometimes I get lonely
Sometimes I get lonely
No, I never thought that it would be this hard
To find love
Oh, I never thought that it would be this hard
To find love
Oh, nananananana
Oh, I really messed it up, my friend
Now I hope you can help me
I hope you can help me once again
Oh, I never thought that it would be this hard
To find love
Oh, I never thought that it would be this hard
To find love
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Find love
Come to my rescue once again
Come to my rescue once again
Come to my rescue once again
Come to my rescue once again
Sometimes I get lonely
The overall theme of The Feeling's song Rescue is the search for love and the need for someone to come to their rescue. In the first verse, the singer asks if the person he is addressing will come to his rescue once again, searching for the signs of life and sending down "water and oxygen" metaphorically representing the healing and reviving elements that are necessary for him to move forward.
The chorus echoes the sentiment of loneliness, as the singer's search for love seems to be a difficult feat. He never thought it would be so hard to find it, and he hopes that the person who was once able to rescue him before can do it once again. The repeated line "sometimes I get lonely" serves as a reminder that even though he is desperately searching for love, he is still struggling with his own feelings of isolation.
The final verse reveals that the singer has messed up in some way and is asking for help once again. He never thought that finding love would be so hard, and now he is back to where he started, hoping that someone will come to his rescue once again. Ultimately, the song speaks to the human need for connection and the desire for someone to help us when we are at our lowest.
