Do You Realize??
The Flaming Lips Lyrics

One, two, three, four

Do you realize that you have the most beautiful face
Do you realize we're floating in space
Do you realize that happiness makes you cry
Do you realize that everyone you know someday will die

And instead of saying all of your goodbyes, let them know
You realize that life goes fast
It's hard to make the good things last
You realize the sun doesn't go down
It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round

Do you realize, oh, oh, oh?
Do you realize that everyone you know
Someday will die?

And instead of saying all of your goodbyes, let them know
You realize that life goes fast
It's hard to make the good things last
You realize the sun doesn't go down
It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round

Do you realize that you have the most beautiful face
Do you realize?

I have never heard this song before, and I am so glad I am hearing it right now. It's great!

Joan Nodland

Played this at my daughter's funeral. We always would sing this together and we would both be sobbing. She was afraid of losing me and i was so scared she was going to leave me. She left. Died from fentynal laced heroin. She always thought she was never good enough. She had a heart of gold. Miss her. This is our song.

Isn't it about obstructive nature, if you never tell you child the beauty of how the mind, came you teach your children, WeAskU, the little void that needs to read here's your mom or Dad reading along, aren't you the one who will type along in forty more years, about how great it is to have a Dad~daa, the first two spoken syllables of life, followed by MAh~um. Be. Wellish, And Dreaming. mAh anger needs. An eyelash and heavy silentish bref. Need hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen, and ol carbon always trying to be alphabetically first... (Periods of ellipses)~ Nerds Well Rounded Too... "We'd run the world for you freely, without charge of finance, so you'd freely run to greeting all that had won, grinding kindly, when so few understand or over~anything, it's often blinding and breathtaking, what does a crowd need from their favorite singin'?

So so sorry for your loss. Losing someone you love is a life long pain that only dulls over time and never goes away. Or in my case, the pain never goes away.

@Random Guy And why exactly did you take the time to write this shitty reply? Look, i'm sorry that you don't know how to type. It must feel terrible to go and type shit replies but i don't see the point of you commenting this on the internet but hey, i'm judging plus this was 3 years ago and i'm not you because i'm not as stupid so we don't think the same way.

Random Guy

@Joan Nodland and what do you mean by “no one would believe it besides myself?” There are like a lot of people who see me as a nice man and sure maybe you can say that they are blind but regardless also like I said in my first respond my comment wasn’t really made to create any issues with you and plus if you don’t like my comment don’t bother to respond to it and sure that’s a hypocrite statement because I commented on your comment but that’s because I was sharing my own opinion and personally I don’t see any issues in your comment but now I am the bad guy? look my point wasn’t to waste your time so just don’t respond to me and keep going with your day because if I am a “bad person” then my comment doesn’t deserve the time and energy from you and no this comment isn’t to make you mad.

This is a song that should be played at some point to everyone....so poetic and truthful. Brings a tear to my eye every time I hear it!

My mom's cancer has come back. It's highly aggressive. I heard about this song through the SDCC Guardians Hall H panel and I haven't been able to stop listening to it, since.

Tell the people you love you love them. Hold them while you can. I'm so grateful to spend time with my mama, and for the music, and for the movies that help define me. Thank you, Flaming Lips. Thank you.

Rafael Garcia

Sending prayers your way
