Formed by Tobias Kippenberger, Simon Visti and Ace in the Spring of 2006. They are known to be one of Denmark's most spectacular live acts. Their debut album, "All Juice No Fruit" was released in Denmark on October 15th 2007 by Tabu Rec./Playground, their second album was released in March 2010 on Target Records.
The songs Told Her I'm from Compton and Do Your Sister have enjoyed quite a lot of airplay in Denmark and brought them to a nomination for the P3 Talent Prize in 2008.
Songs like All Outta Love, Leave me Now (Leave Me Tomorrow) and Harder Than You Think brought them several nominations for "Howl at the Moon", including the P3 Gold Prize, GAFFA Awards and Zulu Awards in 2010/11 - the only award they won, ironically was Best "New" Act at Zulu Awards.

Some People
The Floor Is Made of Lava Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Someone turned you down.
So you dress up, you take it off, you spin around.
Still no one took you out.
Some people never change.
Some are never the same.
You're trying too hard to be someone else.
Trying to be yourself.
Are you ever gonna turn me down?
There's a photograph of a camera hanging from my heart.
I wear it inside out.
Some people never change.
Some are never the same.
You're trying too hard to be someone else.
Trying to be yourself.
You'll get it right if you put up a fight
The Floor Is Made of Lava's song "Some People" talks about the struggle of trying to fit in and be accepted by others. The lyrics describe the singer's attempt to change themselves, dress up and act differently to attract attention, but ultimately, they feel like they are failing to be true to themselves. The line "Some people never change. Some are never the same." seems to suggest that some people are just naturally comfortable in their own skin and can't be changed by outside influences. The singer's dilemma is summed up in the line "You're trying too hard to be someone else. Trying to be yourself.", suggesting that they are struggling with the balance between adapting to society's expectations and staying true to their own identity.
The second half of the song has a slightly different tone. The line "I can't turn it up, I can't turn it off, I won't turn around." suggests a sense of determination and defiance, a refusal to be changed by external pressure. The reference to the photograph of a camera hanging from the heart is an interesting metaphor, suggesting that the singer's desire to be accepted is deeply rooted and personal. The final line "You'll get it right if you put up a fight" is an optimistic note, suggesting that the singer can overcome their struggles and find a way to be true to themselves and still be accepted by others.
Overall, "Some People" is a song that explores the very human desire to be liked and accepted by others, but also the struggle of balancing that with the need to stay true to oneself.
