Found Love
The Fly Bi-Nites Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Dancing through my window today
Found love, I knew you'd stay
When I was you, first I thought
That no one other could see my heart

La la
La la
Dream today

I wish I could be with you
'Til then please say I do
The time has come for me to say
Our love don't fade away

La la
La la
Don't fade away

A secret son, I know it's hard
Slippery slope and always true

Just remember how it was for me
And your love will always be free

Overall Meaning

The Fly Bi-Nites’ song Found Love conveys the joyful feeling of discovering true love unexpectedly. According to the lyrics, the singer of the song discovers love just as easily as the person “dances” into their life through their window. When the singer meets the person they love, they immediately know that this person is meant to stay.

The following lines communicate the fear of vulnerability and how it is difficult to trust someone to truly see one’s heart. The singer sees the ability to see through their facade in their partner, and it confirms that they have truly found love. The chorus, consisting of simple “La la” phrases, further emphasizes the light and dreamy feeling of the discovery of love.

The singer expresses their desire to be with their newfound love but cannot at the moment. They ask the person they love to stay with them by saying ‘I do,’ which implies a feeling of commitment. The singer acknowledges the inevitability of time in their love story and admits that it will come one day.

The last few lines of the song provide some advice to the loved one. They say that it is never easy to love since it is like walking on a slippery slope. However, they provide some encouragement to their partner as they remember how their love story began.

@@3timesperweek You are probably not aware this song was
also on an episode of I Love Lucy. It was the episode where Desi
wanted to sell his music on TV like Slim Whitkin or Peter Lamengello.
Lucy helping him write copy wanted the title chief advertising
consultant. William Holden played the role of a friend of Desi
Don Cales and he took over the campaign but actually ruined the
previous campaign that Lucy very successful ran. Desi pissed off
complained, "The advertising business is filled with no talents who
fill Madison Avenue, they are not good business men they are
"Mad men". This became the title of the episode, "Lucy Meets
Mad Man". So actually their were 2 Don's associated with the expression
'Mad Man' I Found Love by Fly Bi Nite was playing prominently on
the radio in Don Cales office. So 2timesaweek, Mad Men is quite
appropriate. You lose points on this comment. But, I have a great
music playlist it's very eclectic and I think it will cheer you up after
making a serious factual error, proving grammar 'never sleeps;. :)
