Like Someone in Love
The Four Lads Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Lately, I find myself out gazing at stars,
Hearing guitars like someone in love.
Sometimes the things I do astound me,
Mostly whenever you're around me.
Lately I seem to walk as though I had wings,
Bump into things like someone in love.
Each time I look at you,
I'm limp as a glove,
And feeling like someone in love.

Overall Meaning

The Four Lads's song Like Someone in Love is about the overwhelming feeling of being in love. The first verse sets the scene with the singer describing how they've been spending their time, which is by admiring the stars and listening to music. However, the lyrics suggest that the singer is not fully present and is daydreaming about their love interest. When the love interest is around, the singer is astounded by their actions, which implies that they are putting in extra effort to impress them.

The second verse continues with the same theme as the singer talks about walking around as though they have wings and bumping into things. This again suggests that the singer's mind is elsewhere and they are consumed by the feeling of being in love. The chorus of the song repeats the phrase "like someone in love" several times and ties everything together. The singer is admitting that they are completely smitten with their love interest and feel overwhelmed by their affection for them.

Overall, The Four Lads's song Like Someone in Love is a beautiful representation of the joy and excitement that comes with falling in love. The lyrics paint a picture of someone who is consumed by the feeling and can't help but daydream and float around in a cloud of love.

Love it, Jim!! The Lads are fantastic! Great backgrounds and pictures of Ms. Grahame. Your videos are always a joy, and this one is no exception--you brightened another (chilly!) day. Thanks so much! Have a marvelous weekend, my friend :))

Yes, a feeling like non other, for sure! A Canadian quartet that could sure sing! I love their songs! Ever since the first time I saw the movie "It's a Wonderful Life" where Ms. Grahame played the beautiful Violet Bick, I have been a fan of hers. A very lovely and talented actress, I think. Thanks so much for watching and commenting and here is hoping that your weekend is great also! Jim

Wonderful quartet, for sure. Yes, replaced all the albums with CD's as they became available. They don't make music like this anymore so I need to get it before it's gone forever. Thanks so much for your comment!
