I Love this song. One night my husband and I were just listening to the songs we grew up with. After listening for awhile I told him to find it and play it. He did and after the song was over he said, do you have to tell me something? I love this song- first heard it in Viet Nam. I had split up with my childhood sweetheart after high school graduation ('70) and found myself in Vietnam in December 1970. All I thought of in my tour was her. I found her 36 years later but I was married and had raised 6 kids. She was divorced with two girls. I sent her flowers and we had dinner and wine and breakfast the next morning and said our goodbyes.

This was an exceptional song.
The song spend something like 26 weeks on Billboard top 100.
