1. Jayceon Terrell Taylor (born November 29, 1979 in Compton, California, United States), better known by his stage name Game, formerly known as The Game, is an American Grammy Award winning gangsta rapper signed to Aftermath Entertainment through his own label Black Wall Street Records, with which he founded with his half brother Big Fase 100. He rose to fame in 2005 with the success of his debut album, The Documentary, and his two Grammy nominations. Since then he has released several other critically acclaimed albums, 2006's Doctor's Advocate and 2008's LAX. The RED Album was released August 23, 2011. All of his four albums debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 100, and he is widely considered to be a driving force in bringing back the West Coast hip hop scene and competing with many of his East Coast counterparts.
Studying various influential rap albums, Game developed a strategy to become a rapper himself and with help from Big Fase, they founded The Black Wall Street Records. The label originally featured such artists as Glasses Malone, Vita, and Nu Jerzey Devil, along with Game himself. His stage name was coined by his grandmother. Game first gained prominence when he attended a hip-hop summit hosted by Russell Simmons and Louis Farrakhan, releasing his first mixtape You Know What It Is Vol. 1 in 2002, followed by a record deal with the independent label, Get Low Recordz owned by JT the Bigga Figga. Originally Sean Combs of Bad Boy Records was going to sign him to his label, but Game's mixtape found the attention of famed producer Dr. Dre, who signed him to Aftermath Entertainment in 2003. In October 2004, he released his first album Untold Story through Get Low Recordz, which sold over 82,000 copies within its first three months. The album featured artists like Sean T, Young Noble (of the Outlawz), and JT the Bigga Figga. Game also appeared on various mixtapes hosted by DJ's such as DJ Kayslay, DJ Whoo Kid, and DJ Clue. Game also released a second mixtape You Know What It Is Vol. 2 through his own record label and appeared on the video game NBA Live 2004 on a song produced by Fredwreck called "Can't Stop Me". On January 24th, 2011, he released a mixtape entitled, "Purp & Patron."

Pot Of Gold
The Game Lyrics

Is not for me
I close my eyes
And imagine I'm home
I miss the days
When life was simple
But if I never tried to follow that rainbow
In search of the pot of gold
It's a mother out there right now
About to have the next LeBron
Searching for a pot of gold like a leprechaun
They say death comes in threes
Who's next in line?
And I just lost a best friend for the second time
Now I'm on a quest to find peace
Still gotta carry my piece and
So wooh when it's rappin' time
Y'all don't understand I'm misunderstood
Give Interscope two more albums
Then I'm done for good
Sold 10 million records, ain't leave the hood
It's a cold world, everybody need a hood
And everybody doing time, stay headstrong
You still got a chance to
Live even though you dead wrong
All the spotlight
Is not for me
I close my eyes
And imagine I'm home
I miss the days
When life was simple
But if I never tried to follow that rainbow
In search of the pot of gold
In search of the pot of gold
Sometimes I try to do good but I just can't be
It's hard to get myself to do things that ain't me
And y'all should thank me
But my haters busy trying to send me home early
But you can't New Orlean Saint me
I ain't a saint B, I ain't a God, girl
I ain't a angel neither but I try hard y'all
I'm lighting up for all my soldiers at war
As I sit back and watch
The ashes on my cigar fall
Wayne just came home and
Tip back on the yard dog
Guess Pujols ain't the only one playing hard ball
All the spotlight
Is not for me
I close my eyes
And imagine I'm home
I miss the days
When life was simple
But if I never tried to follow that rainbow
In search of the pot of gold
In search of the pot of gold
See the thing about all of us is
We never know just what we'd find
All the spotlight
Is not for me
I close my eyes
And imagine I'm home
I miss the days
When life was simple
But if I never tried to follow that rainbow
In search of the pot of gold
In search of the pot of gold
The song Pot Of Gold by The Game and Chris Brown expresses a longing for simpler times, even as they pursue their goals in the spotlight. The opening lines, "All the spotlight/Is not for me/I close my eyes/And imagine I'm home" reveal that despite their fame, they still yearn for the comfort of home and a simpler life. The lyrics then speak to the challenges and obstacles they faced on their journey to success, such as losing friends and navigating a world where everyone needs a hood (i.e. protection). The chorus repeats the theme of searching for a pot of gold, which can be interpreted as a metaphor for success or perhaps even happiness.
The bridge of the song is particularly introspective, with The Game acknowledging that he struggles to do good sometimes and that he is not a saint or an angel, but he tries hard nonetheless. He also references some of his friends, such as Lil Wayne and T.I., who have been through their own struggles. The final lines of the song, "See the thing about all of us is/We never know just what we'd find," further underscore the theme of searching for something elusive, whether it be success, happiness, or purpose.
Overall, Pot Of Gold is a reflective song that explores the ups and downs of pursuing one's dreams, even as the singers long for simpler times and the comfort of home.
