One of the less wholesome aspects of 'religious freedom' in America
our neighbor has been the proliferation cults----------not least racist cults. On the one hand, Anglo-Israelism claims that the peoples of Britain were descended from the lost tribes of Israel, which is patently ridiculous.
Nor should we take at face value Black Israelites' assumption that Israelites were originally 'black', i.e. Negroid. (I make the distinction because many dark-skinned peoples of the world were and still are predominantly Caucasoid, but that's a subject for another day.)

We know a fair bit about the origins of Israel from Biblical history, and scientific anthropology at its best will confirm it. True, the twelve tribes came in contact with non-Semitic peoples during their 430-year sojourn in Egypt, and a 'mixed multitude' went out with them. However Moses' marriage to an Ethiopian woman (probably Sudanese according to modern maps) would not have been considered exceptional Moses and all israel been 'black' already.

It's not that one group came from the other, but that they share some degree of common ancestry. Surely this is not too difficult to understand; we are all descended from the same original pair of ancestors, so why not?

Whenever i read the passage in Revelation, I have the impression of Christ in His Glory, in His Resurrected Body, which is not the same as the one he was born with. it is altogether more powerful and magnificent.

I never took the passage as a commentary on 'race'. I thought that its purpose was to exalt Jesus, not to exalt one 'race' over another.

'Prosperity theology' is certainly not my cup of tea. I found his messages all the same, very boring and superficial, dodging tough issues.
On the positive side, he did make altar calls inviting people to receive Christ.

Now when Jesus says, 'Do not judge, so that you will not be judged', I think He really means it. Shall we let the final verdict on a man's worth and work rest with God? Our knowledge of details is inferior to His.

In 1st Timothy 2:4 it states that God 'desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.'

In the light of that revelation, who are we to regard ANYONE as a 'joke'??

Most of the people in this video made it so complicated when it is so simplified,

Jesus was a son of Shem, Shem was a middle child of Noah, from the ark.

Noah had three sons Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

History shows that Ham is a father of Africans and that Japheth is a father of Europeans,

It shows that genetically, geographically, culturally, chronologically, linguistically, through history and antiquity that the sons of Shem were of Persian/Mesopotamian origin.

Very interesting I love it. As I mentioned Jesus had to be the complexion of his region of Earth he was born in. God had his reasons for making people darker and people lighter I'm sure he didn't make anyone race to be superior over any other race. As I mentioned what matters is what Jesus has taught us and is still teaching us. It's scary to politicize Jesus in a way that puts a wedge between people of different ethnic backgrounds. It in fact I got all jumbled up there during jesus's time of crucifixion. And the Europeans that decided to become Christians and to pick Jesus as white. They may have had an agenda but I don't think that most white people in America see that depiction of Jesus as a white supremacy symbol. That's a scary thing to do as the preacher mentioned we don't know what Jesus looked like no one truly does we can only speculate but we will know when we see him, the whole world will fall to their knees and the glory and splendor of his return

I absolutely loved this video. Thank you for challenging the status quo with regard to race relations and the bible. That's why its important to study the bible for your self (even the bible says "study to show yourself approved"). In the bible, Jesus was born in the Middle East (Bethlehem). His family fled to Egypt in an effort to run away from King Herod. While in Egypt the family assimilated, therefore, that means they must have looked like one of the locals. With that said, logistically, there is NO WAY a blond haired blue eyed Jesus would have assimilated in Egypt with out being ostracized. I'm white and you've just answered a question I've had for 58yrs. I went to catholic school and the nuns couldn't ever give me any answer when I put the question to them. They looked at me like I was nuts.
I've always had questions about that religion being it had some rules and teachings that didnt conside with the bible.
I've never considered myself superior to anyone. As I got older; common sense really kicked in as it does for most of us and I continued to question everything even up til today.

I know I'm late to the party, but I just stumbled upon this video, which I LOVE! A short story... I'm 62. Back in the EARLY 60's we lived on the Air Base where I embraced by Army Brat days. Of course, surrounded by Europeans. And of course I had to go to the base church and SUNDAY SCHOOL! I was always nervous in Sunday school because I was always scolded (sometimes put out in the hallway) for asking to many questions. Well. The day I argued that Jesus couldn't possibly be white, blond and blue eyed because I learned at home (I had to study the globe) that Jesus was living in a part of the world where people were dark skinned. Then I had the nerve to bring up the walking on water thing. Long story, short. They called my parents and told them to come get me. The church removed me from Sunday School, PERMANENTLY! LOL! At my current age, I'm still told I ask to many questions and to "just have faith". I call this "church speak" when people have no thought of their own to discuss. Question. What is faith according to the Bible? "Now faith (pi'stis) is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. — Hebrews 11:1. This passage concerning the function of faith in relation to the covenant of God is often used as a definition of faith". Okay. Like, I'm still not going to put myself in a "situation" and have faith I will be spared. There are consequences. This sounds ridiculous to me. So my question is why is there such a thing as too many questions? Because "uncolored" people want to be in charge. I really believe it's that simple. GOOD VIDEO!! I hope I didn't just open up a can of whup-ass! LOL!!! :)

These paintings that where created hundreds of years ago in Europe where painted by artists who rarely if ever saw a person of another race. Now we have media.. cars..airplanes..we can travel the world easily. We can see people from other cultures on our phone in seconds. 500 years ago most people had never traveled more than a few miles from their village in their entire lives. The models they used for their paintings where people that lived in their village and looked liked every other person they knew. In a Jesus painting from an artist in Spain Jesus looked Spanish. A 500 year old Jesus painting from Holland. Jesus looked Dutch. A 500 year old Jesus painting from Germany would probably be depicted as blond and blue eyed Jesus. He would have been painted to look like every other human looked in the artists tiny world.

If you wanna see what Jesus might have looked like go to the Middle East where there are poor farmers tending sheep that are out in the sun all day, their faces lined from hard work, and you'll probably get a good idea what his face looked like. Probably loss of hair due to malnutrition. Average height of men during that time was 5 ft 5 inches. I think we all naturally vision and looking similar to the way we ourselves look. I've always pictured in my mind as a brown skin guy with dark hair. Knowing that he lived in Israel I would have to conclude that he would look similar to those that are from that part of the world. Just across the water from Morocco and all of North Africa. None of the Gospel writers remarked upon His physical appearance which makes me think He didn't look much different from the average Jewish man of his time and place. I seem to recall one time someone was trying to arrest Him and He just blended in with the crowd and they couldn't pick Him out. When they did finally arrest Him someone who knew Him had to physically point Him out. So, what did most early 1st century Jews in the province of Judea look like? My guess would be sort of vaguely middle eastern or "Levantine," with dark hair and eyes and sort of an olive complexion. No, I don't imagine Jesus looked like a Swede, but I don't think He looked like a Bantu either.

Thanks for this video - I'm white,raised a Christian and I've always questioned how Jesus could be white as he was born a Jew in the middle East,it made no sense to me - I often remarked about it as a child after seeing photos of Jewish people from Palestine etc - Jesus is NOT white,never was white and never will be.
"Christianity" was invented by the Roman Catholic church (emphasis being on ROMAN) and it was obviously coloured (no pun intended) by the ideas of of the men who led the Church.
My personal belief is that the Romans adopted Christianity as their own to control the new belief system that was knee capping their authority - why would the Romans (who despised the Christian movement) insist on forcing the population to adopt a middle eastern monotheist "God" and give up the household Gods of their forefathers - remember keep your friends close and your enemies closer!

I am very close to where Jesus is from, genetically very similar. We are as you say, 'white.' Generally dark haired and dark eyed, sometimes light haired, red haired and light eyed (rare but not totally unknown here) - colouring of Mediterranean to the Caucasus region. We are not the same colouring as the Middle Eastern gulf/peninsular, we are Levantine people, mixed for thousands of years with varying empires and people from the north, south, east and western regions. I am an atheist, don't care about Jesus or Mohammed - But I do care about historical accuracy regarding my people. Colour cannot denote ethnicity, since whiteness is not exclusive to one group of people, eg. European.

The earliest images of the Mo ors in Europe (originally called Moriscos before the term applied to just anyone that was m u s l i m and from the mid east by the rest of Europe) showed pale and often red headed people, just like the earliest pictures of their general Tariq Ibn Ziyad. The answer is: historically, people painted other people the way they saw themselves. If Jesus is portrayed as a white man, it is because a white man painted him. Asians have made him look Asian, Africans depict him as African, Byzantine icons depict him as southeastern European, in Russia he looks like a Czar, etc. So my guess to why Jesus is white in the USA is because it was white people from Europe who came to the USA and they brought with them their white image of Jesus.

when you read your bible well from Genesis to Revelations, this question wouldn't arise as it is obvious. He was a Hebrew, and Hebrew and Aramaic speaking. He was born in the middle east, travelled around the present days middle east, syria, Jerusalem. In his crucification a black man is mentioned and specified to be of Africa ( Simon) of Cyrene, now Libya. He was a Hebrew and Hebrews still exist even today and speak it, and they are the Jews, They are from Canaan, today Israel located, they are of white skin. however it shouldn't be what we bother ourselves with when dealing with God, leave the milk to children and eat solid food

When I read genesis to exodus and study the original Greek words, I see just how clearly blunt the biblical text speaks on race and even considers some races "beasts".
People don't realize that people migrate, move countries. There are many many historical findings of people's descriptions of Jesus - people who met him in the flesh. Each description was a white man with chestnut/blonde hair and blue/green eyes.
Biblically speaking, there are verses that talk about the whiteness of the Israelites skin. One dude in the Bible even complained that the sun burned his skin from working in the vineyard and made others think he wasn't white!
Jesus was white. Israelites were white. And the Bible PROVES this.

In 1998 my wife and I Travel to Spain add to Africa. While in Spain I went to the Prado museum where we saw a lot of religious paintings the same paintings that you will see in your mother or your grandmother’s Bible of White people. Then they show us earlier paintings which were the same as the ones in the Bible but a lot of people were painted it black Now in some of the churches I saw Jesus Christ hanging on the cross and he was also black, as well as statues of his mother and himself were black

@The Mechanic Tangerine I used to be Catholic until I left the church, and many Catholic churches in America, even in Virginia where I presently reside have statues of Black Jesus, one in downtown Norfork a black Jesus on the cross and one at the Virginia Beach Ocean front which originally had a Black Jesus on the cross on the main street until it was move inside several years. The funny thing is all the pictures around the wall in the churches were painted white. The statues were dark with African features. I no longer go to church but I've been to many Catholic churches to funerals. Half of my mother's family are still Catholic. One of the churches was recently remodeled and the other is not old so those dark statues didn't darken with age.

Someone asked, "...Why on earth would the color of his skin matter anyway?" The clear answer is that it shouldn't. Our host made some well researched and extremely valid observations.
When people are in the process of conquering your people and are intent on either obliterating your entire culture or keeping you enslaved, I imagine it is no picnic. Many were given a choice of either assimilation or death. To the host's point, the image was used to "civilize", in other words terrorize, humans of color into subjegation. If they used images of a Jesus who had the same skin tones as the Native Americans or the enslaved black people, the would have had a harder time describing them as unworthy of the kingdom of heaven. By describing the leader of all "goodness" as being pale-skinned and labeling the dark-skinned as evil or unworthy, they weaponized his image and made him a mascot for "purity" and goodness.

If race didn’t mean anything in the Bible why would it name everyone by race why was Noah 3 sons races separated and had their own lands. @Willy J. Orca we were given the Bible during slavery but remember it was forbidden for us to read and write. Also the pastors that were taught to read and write could only teach 3 things out of the Bible. The rest of the Bible couldn’t be read. 🤦🏽‍♀️. There was even a task master at service to make sure the pastor didn’t read anything else out of the Bible. Please look up the full information on any subject. Not just want u seen on tv. Also they made us bow down to a white Jesus statue which they told us was god. So if god is white what did it mean to the slaves that were brown. Obviously their master were from the same race as god and should be obeyed. They never taught us the Bible nor were we allowed to learn it because number one Christmas is written of in the Bible and it says for us not to do it in Jeremiah chapter 10 u should read it.
