We are The Grogans. Our grandparents say our songs "have a good beat" and when your grandparents say that, you know it must be average.
We're three best mates from Melbourne, and formed The Grogans while jamming through high-school. We began playing friends and families parties, then moved onto our first few shows at Ding Dong lounge, then released our debut EP ‘Cacteyed’ towards the end of the year, featuring ‘Pot Head Artist’.
With the release of our second EP ‘Twangs n’ Cans’ (2017) and the development of an engaging live show, we opened a path to playing alongside bands such as -Northeast Party House, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, Dear Seattle, Peach Fur, Good Doogs, Polish Club and Drunk Mums.
However, we've got bigger things planned for 2018...
Already this year, we headed out to Ocean Grove, where between surfing and skating, we recorded our third EP – ‘Grogan Grove’. Grogan Grove is set out to be our biggest record to date. The EP has a new mixture of sounds that we hadn’t recorded in previous releases, adding spacey – riff orientated jams like the ones in ‘Abando’ right through to the mellower tracks like ‘Intentions’.
Have a listen to the single ‘Lemon to my Lime’ and let us know what you think!
Take It Or Leave It
The Grogans Lyrics

Thinking I'll see you again
Stuck inside of a notion
I am nothing at all
You came home, thought I was sleeping
Tip toeing round so I wouldn't wake
Sad thing is I wasn't dozing
Take it or leave it, sometimes it gets harder to breathe in
Take it or leave it
Driving is the hardest part
Alone for too long in my body
Guess I'm heavy rolling
Like feeding a dog on an empty stomach
Take it or leave it, sometimes it gets harder to breathe in
Take it or leave it
Take it or leave it, sometimes it gets harder to breathe in
Take it or leave it
The lyrics to The Grogans's "Take It Or Leave It" describe a person who is struggling with the weight of their emotions and trying to come to terms with their situation. They are taking a mental escape to the ocean, hoping to see their loved one again. However, they are stuck in a constant cycle of negative thoughts and emotions that they cannot shake off. When their loved one comes home at night, they pretend to sleep to avoid any confrontation or conversation. The person feels alone and heavy, like they are carrying the burden of their emotions on their own. They realize that sometimes life can be difficult, and you have to take it or leave it.
Overall, the song touches on themes of loneliness, despair, and acceptance. It highlights the human experience of feeling overwhelmed by emotions and just wanting to escape from them for a little while. At the same time, it is a reflection on the harsh realities of life and the universal struggle to come to terms with them.
