One of my favorite discs from my favorite orchestra. We have on one side this wonderful tune,sung expertly by Buddy,and on the flip,the equally wonderful tune,"I Wish I Knew",sung tenderly by the marvelous Kitty Kallen.

Every time I listen to Harry's version,I think it's the best. Every time I listen to Dick Haymes' version,I think it's the best. Fickle fan.

Although he recorded his version much later, have you ever heard Nat King Cole's take on this song, also on You Tube? Cole includes the original intro, which both the Haymes & James versions leave out.

@kwiatkurd Nat never disappoints. Thanks a bunch for making my life just a little more complicated! Lol. Although I was only 9 years old when Nat passed,I mourned his death as I would that of a dear friend. I loved his voice,and everything about his gentle,quiet demeanor that he conveyed on record and on television appearances. ❤

Evidently you were born in '56, while I was born in '51. I worked for a division of Time Inc. In the late 1980's Time-Life Music issued a series on pop vocalists. An in-house newsletter said Time-Life conducted a poll to determine which vocalists to issue volumes on. Nat was voted #1. The real vocal god was Mario Lanza--not sure if you're familiar with him. Just listen to his "Danny Boy/Londonderry AIr" on You Tube. Fantastic.

@kwiatkurd Oh,sure,I know of Lanza,a long-time favorite of my Italian-born grandfather who thought him to be the reincarnation of Caruso. Be My Love,Because,Because You're Mine,and my favorite, Drink, Drink, Drink!,are the first to come to mind. Thanks for your song suggestions. I'll be listening. While I'm typing,TCM is showing "Rich,Young and Pretty,featuring a young Vic Damone,at the peak of his career...made in your birth year!
