The band released their Swedish Grammi-winning debut album "Supershitty to the Max!" in 1996. Just before a tour opening for Kiss, the band recruited keyboardist and percussionist Anders Lindström (also known as Boba Fett or Boba) on a part-time basis; he would become a full-time member in 1999. After the album "Payin' the Dues" in 1998, Dregen left the band to return to Backyard Babies full-time, and Mattias Hellberg and Danne Andersson were recruited to complete the band's touring responsibilities. After the release of "Grande Rock", which featured additional guitar playing from both Lindström and Hellberg, Robert Dahlqvist was hired as a full-time lead guitarist in 1999. With the lineup now solidified, the band released three more studio albums and a cover album, with many EPs and limited-edition releases as well. The Hellacopters disbanded amicably in 2008 so the members could move on to other projects. Eight years later, the band reassembled in 2016, initially for an exclusive performance at Sweden Rock Festival to celebrate the 20-year anniversary of their award-winning debut album "Supershitty to the Max!".
In October 2021, the band announced that they had signed with the record label Nuclear Blast to release a new album in the spring of 2022. The album, "Eyes of Oblivion", was released on April 1, 2022.

(it's alright)
Whenever I'm asked who makes my dreams real
I say that you do
(you're outta sight)
So fee fi fo fum
Look out baby 'cause here I come
So get ready
I'm gonna try to make love to you so get ready
So get ready here I come
I'm on my way
If you wanna play hide and seek with love let me remind you
(it's alright)
The loving you're gonna miss and the time it takes to find you
(it's outta sight)
So fiddle-lee-dee fiddle-lee-dum
Look out baby 'cause here I come
And I'm bringing you a love that's true so get ready
So get ready
I'm gonna try to make love to you so get ready
So get ready here I come
I'm on my way
All my friends shouldn't want me to I understand it
(be alright)
I hope I'll get to you before they do the way I planned it
(be outta sight)
So twiddle-dee-dee twiddle dee dum
Look out baby 'cause here I come
And I'm bringing you a love that's true so get ready
So get ready
I'm gonna try to make love to you so get ready
So get ready here I come.
I'm on my way.
Get ready 'cause here I come, boy
Get ready 'cause here I come, boy
Get ready 'cause here I come, boy
The lyrics to The Hellacopters' song Get Ready are about a person expressing their love for someone and their desire to be with them. The opening verse highlights how the person has never met anyone else who makes them feel the same way as the person they are singing about. The use of the words "you're outta sight" and "it's alright" suggest that the person is confident and comfortable in their feelings for this person. In the chorus, the singer declares their intentions to pursue a romantic relationship with the person and is "bringing you a love that's true", asking them to "get ready". The repetition of the phrase "so get ready" in the chorus emphasizes the singer's eagerness and determination to be with this person.
The second verse encourages the person to not play games with love and suggests that if they do, they may miss out on the singer's love. The use of the phrase "fiddle-lee-dee fiddle-lee-dum" and "twiddle-dee-dee twiddle dee dum" adds a playful element to the song, making it feel lighthearted and fun. The final verse is a plea to the person to choose the singer's love over the love of their friends who may also be interested in them.
Overall, the song is a catchy, upbeat expression of love and desire. It has a classic rock sound with guitar riffs and a driving beat that puts the emphasis on the lyrics and the singer's message.
