Listen dear, there′s some things you can't know
But it′s okay
It's alright
There's a sickness in this smile
Don′t kill my high
You′ll say I'm a bad man
You′ll call for last time
On the last night and realize that
This may by the wrong side
The cold and alone side
Too late on the wrong line
There's shots fired and I′m on the run
It's a wonder where we both might go
To open up
To penetrate
To know
It's okay
It′s alright
Peel back the skin you hide behind
This red line
Don′t say I'm a good man
A ′would if you could' man
Don′t call for last time
It's about time I realize that
This may be the wrong time
Give way to the right lie
Too late on the wrong night
There′s shots fired and I'm on the run
Don't say I′m a good man
A ′would if you could' man
Don′t say I'm the bad man
There′s shots fired and I'm on the run
Don′t call me a good man
Don't call me the one man
Just call me the gunman
There's shots fired and I′m on the

Breathe calm
Let go

Just laid out
Rain down
Here in the garden we'll lie
Stay still
Breathe calm
Let go
This cold night
Don′t say I'm a good man
Don′t say I'm the one man
You′ll call for last time
At the last sight and realize that
This may by the wrong side
This may be the wrong fight
Wrong face for the right lie
There's shots fired and I've got the gun
Don′t say I′m a good man
Don't say I′m the bad man
Don't say I′m the madman
There's shots fired and I′ve got the gun
Don't call me a good man
Don't call me the one man
Just call me the gunman

The Garden by The Icarus Plan is a song about a man who is struggling with his own emotions and thoughts. The song starts with the man asking for help to clear the way and for someone to listen. He then goes on to say that there are things that the listener cannot know but it's okay, and there's a sickness in his smile. The next stanza reveals his fear of losing his high and being judged by the listener, who might call him both a good man and a bad man. He warns that they will realize that they might be on the wrong side soon enough. In the chorus, he tells the listener not to call him a good man, a bad man or a madman, just the gunman as the shots are fired and he is on the run.
In the next stanza, he expresses his desire to connect with the listener deeply, and for them both to open up, to penetrate and to know. He urges the listener to peel back the skin they hide behind, and not to call him a good man or a "would if you could" man. The final stanza reveals his desperation as he urges the listener to stay still, breathe calm and let go. He tells the listener not to be like him and that they will lie in the garden. He repeats the warning not to call him a good man or a bad man, but to call him simply the gunman as shots are fired, and he has the gun.

sadly, in my experience, even when you do report that shit, it doesn't help. the police just show up and them leave and do fuck all about it. real helpful, right?
freaking awesome song though
