Liberty
The Interrupters Lyrics

keeping them out ah tell me why they violate rights
Blue red lights beautiful fucks on my street at night Hey
Where did my liberty go?
Where did my liberty go?
Now they're taking over and they got complete control,
Where did my liberty go?
Poverty's high, barely get by
They want you to suffer before you die
There's no moving up, too many mouths to feed
take all the words from the ones who mean it
Where did my liberty go?
Where did my liberty go?
Now they're taking over and they got complete control,
Where did my liberty go?
Better get down, don't speak your mind
Nod your head like everythings fine
Dont compromise it cause if they hear you
THEY THEY DISAPPEAR YOU
Where did my liberty go?
Where did my liberty go?
They took him away, they got complete control,
Where did my liberty go?
Drones in the skies, government lies
keeping them out ah tell me why they violate rights
Blue red lights beautiful fucks on my street at night Hey
Where did my liberty go?
Where did my liberty go?
Now they're taking over and they got complete control,
Where did my liberty go?
The Interrupters' song "Liberty" is a protest against government control over personal freedom. The lyrics suggest that there are drones in the sky, and government lies that prevent people from enjoying their rights. The use of blue and red lights on the streets at night symbolizes the government's control and the violation of privacy. The lyrics ask the question where did my liberty go, as if the singer's personal freedom has been taken away by the government. The song also mentions poverty, and the difficulty in moving up due to the number of people who need to be fed. The government is taking away the voice of the people who mean it, possibly representing political suppression and censorship. The lyrics warn that speaking out can lead to disappearance, suggesting government-sanctioned violence against dissent.

super stoked on subject matter of this album. Hope this means some punk rockers are gonna wake up and realize that contrary to popular belief we have always been on the right

i think you mean anti-authoritarian left? critique of government, media, creeping fascism, anti-racism, all within a collective spirit. Not the hyper individualist, right wing everyone for themselves. That's the root of much punk - left equity and equality
@waltermaloney801
@A Lewis leftists are collectively for a bigger, more authoritarian state.

@Walter Maloney I mean I'm an anti state /anti authoritarian leftist (anarchist which has a long history since at least the mid 1860s)so no, not all leftists are though I'll grant that alot are that's def fair to say. The right is far from the primary or the earliest advocates of smaller government. Much of the authoritarian inclined governments these days are definitely to the right rather than the left.

@A Lewis @A Lewis the Declaration of Independence depicts a clear account of an order without control. That man has been endowed by our creator with certain inalienable rights, which aren't given or taken away by government. That order is man having rights bestowed, it's lack of control is that government cannot give or take them away.
America was founded against overreaching government, which sought to control individual lives. The right (currently) are a party of less government, with respect of individuals rights. Can that be scrutinized? Yes, it definitely can.
