Life Is A Celebration
The Kids From "Fame" Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I was lost on a winding road
I thought that life had nothing left to give
And you came and showed me that just to live
Was the greatest gift of all
And you showed me

Life is a celebration
(Life is a celebration)
Lord, I'm gonna celebrate
(Celebrate)
Life is a celebration
(Life is a celebration)
So come on now
And celebrate, celebrate
Life is a celebration
Look, it's a revelation

So celebrate now
Celebrate life, yeah
Celebrate now
Celebrate life, yeah
Celebrate now
Celebrate life, yeah

How could I have been so blind
Just to think that we were living to die
You came along and I was no longer alone
And you led me to the light
And you showed me

Life is a celebration
(Life is a celebration)
Lord, I'm gonna celebrate
(Celebrate)
Life is a celebration
(Life is a celebration)
So come on now
And celebrate, celebrate
Life is a celebration
Look, it's a revelation

So celebrate now
Celebrate life, yeah
Celebrate now
Celebrate life, yeah
Celebrate now
Celebrate life, yeah

(Life is a celebration
Life is a celebration
Celebrate
Life is a celebration
Life is a celebration
Life is a celebration)

(Life is a celebration
Life is a celebration)
Lord, I'm gonna celebrate
(Celebrate)
Life
(Is a celebration
Life is a celebration)
So come on now
And celebrate, celebrate
Life is a celebration
Look, it's a revelation

So celebrate now
Celebrate life, yeah
Celebrate now
Celebrate life, yeah
Celebrate now
Celebrate life, yeah
Celebrate, celebrate

Celebrate, celebrate
Celebrate, celebrate life.

Debbie Allen is ridiculously talented. Stunning voice and breathtaking dancer.

@omarcogle1965

She didn't play, she's still a real one.

@SergioArellano-yd7ik

She was hot as hell too.

@theoracle56

I get teary every time I watch this because this was one of my favorite Fame performances and I used to dance an interpretation of this in dance school. Debbie Allen and Michael DeLorenzo in their prime were fabulous along with the wonderful Erica Gimpel.

This is how life was for dance students in the City. It makes me proud to have lived and experienced this first hand.

@Mitzi73

Yes, I tear up too. It is just beautiful.

I Will Never Forget How Much Joy This Show Brought Me and Still Does to This Day๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰โค๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰

In years to come from now the songs from Fame will still be sung every once in a while from their fans whereas Glee will only be remembered for one song (Don't stop believing). It's amazing that even with all those years separating them and better technology in Glee's time, Fame will still come out on top and beat Glee by miles

@kathp6689

With of course 'once in a while' being a Fame song!!!!

@simonanders5676

And that one song within Glee..as great as it is....has nothing to do with the series ....Whereas , all tracks in Fame....are original...
